Thank you amazing @WHO Interns for your dedication to promote health, keep the world safe and help us fight #COVID19. Your solidarity to the world is inspiring in this difficult moment. We must stay united while working apart on our joint mission to save lives. Together!
Many thanks @Haiti_UNOG, #Algeria, #Jamaica, #Mozamique and #SouthAfrica ! You supported the World Health Assembly resolution in May 2018 ( https://t.co/lNhKnqWT65). @WHO and @DrTedros met the first target. Our next target is to increase geographical diversity. Let's go for it !
From resolution to reality! #Haiti is honored to have joined #Algeria, #Jamaica, #Mozambique & #SouthAfrica, alongside @WHO Secretariat led by @DrTedros, in opening access to ALL young public health leaders from around the world gain valuable experience at WHO. We made history!
@melinscribe @JanikaHauser@FII_Geneva@WHO@UN The value card is like a debit card. We put the money on it. No need for interns to have a bank account. Easy to use to pay on internet, in shops and everywhere where a debit card can be used. Can also be used for cash withdrawal.
Today is a big day for @WHO_HQ_Interns ! For the first time in @WHO history, interns are getting a subsistence allowance. Our first 3 interns of 2020 have received daily lunch vouchers, a value card with CHF 56 per day, and medical insurance. Thanks @DrTedros. @DrSenait
Thanks @DrTedros to always have time to meet @WHO_HQ_Interns and thanks to all @WHO colleagues for hosting our great interns and encouraging diversity.
Thanks @WHO_HQ_Interns for your great ideas, such as a campaign to reduce @WHO's environmental impact & “Cultural Fridays” to celebrate diversity in our organization. I am endlessly thankful for your contributions to make WHO & the world a better place.
Today the Intern Board met with @DrTedros to discuss our initiatives and implementation of #fairinternships to increase the diversity and well-being of #WHOInterns. We're grateful to have a leader who's passionate and engaged in driving changes to the Internship Programme! 🙏

Peak season for @WHO_HQ_Interns. Today we ran a workshop @WHO to discuss the WHO values charter launched recently by @DrTedros. We count on our future health leaders to support our values !
A lively meeting took place today @WHO with @DrTedros and the intern board of @WHO_HQ_Interns. A lot of new activities are ongoing during summer time (cultural exchanges, book club, CV clinics). The priority for @WHO remains the introduction of stipends in January 2020.
At the meeting of @WHO_HQ_Interns and @DrTedros today, progress of diversity among @who interns was celebrated. In April, 41% of @WHO_HQ_Interns were coming from low and middle income countries. By 2022, we should reach 50%. Starting stipends in 2020 will help !
@minhealthnz A very sad news. Sincere condolences to Stewart’s family and friends. I have always been very impressed by his interventions at @WHO Executive Board. Insightful and a great sense of humour. RIP.
Interns make an enormous contribution to the work of @WHO. By 2020 WHO has committed to provide financial and, where appropriate, in-kind assistance to interns. We have already improved conditions by providing health insurance and some other benefits. Thank you, #WHOinterns!
Thoroughly enjoyed my meeting with the #WHOinterns. They are inspirational. They are the future of @WHO and global health. I fully support them and we will continue working together towards #HealthForAll and the future of global health
