@pennebaker 1. Stupid. Would turn free kicks into the idiotic corner scrums we saw last year in the Premier League.
2. The Wenger rule… meh. More up to opinion. I don’t love it, but w/e.
3. Unnecessary. Just because people can’t count to 2 doesn’t mean change the Laws.
@LakeShowYo The Laws of the Game say SECOND TO LAST DEFENDER. the only reason people say "last defender" is usually the goalkeeper is the actual last, so the last outfield player is second to last. Here, at the moment the attacker plays the ball, the goalkeeper is further up the field.

@KDAG91 The one thing not considered in this thread is a host country doesn’t play the qualifying matches which can make their FIFA rating artificially deflated.
@FootyScran Had it not been for that specific tie I would have agreed, but the playoffs are more like a Cup tie. They cheated in a cup tie and the result was reversed. Pretty standard sanction- they tried to cheat to reach a £200m match and got caught, so they don’t get to make the match.
@GaijinBaseball If I'm the Cubs or Padres, I'm offering the Dodgers a trade for Sasaki. Cubs especially seem to know what they're doing with Imanaga.
If I'm the Dodgers, I'm sitting him down with Yoshi and Shohei then leaving the room. Let them talk to him, sort out what he needs, then do it.
