Today we released the November 2024 core update. We'll add it to our ranking release history page in the near future and update when the rollout is complete. For more on core updates:

Infographie exclusive du fonctionnement de Google Search by @resoneo et l'article explicatif qui va avec... désolé c'est un peu long😅, mais c'est pour la bonne cause ^^ #SEO#GoogleLeak https://t.co/MSsJbZFVeG
BTW, if we ever needed an AIO filter or report in GSC, NOW WOULD BE THE TIME. :) Again, it's maddening trying to track AIOs in GSC. I wrote a post on SER a while ago explaining that (and showing examples that should be clear in the data). Nope. Here's that post: https://t.co/EhUTIbomYj
Google Search ranking volatility and chatter still super heated, even days after the August core update completed - is it the tail end or something new? https://t.co/Oij2FVQNPO
Google August 2024 core update is done - here is what we know
- Few saw full recoveries
- Some saw small recoveries
- Most saw nothing or even more hurt
Here are some of the facts, volatility charts and more from the SEO community on this update

Google Search Console performance reports are indeed catching up but the fresh data is being reprocessed and is not 100% accurate yet, the fresh data reports are off right now, Google needs a few days to fully reprocess it - patience https://t.co/DcBHRz7vM7
Good news: Google Search Console has now updated (after a massive delay).
Bad news: literally every property I have access to looks like this - clearly a data collection issue.
FAQ: How do users from Google organic search browse my website in #GA4?
Follow the steps below:
1) Navigate to the ‘Explore’ > ‘Path Exploration’ report template in your GA4 property.
2) Name your report 'Organic Search Traffic Flow'.
3) Set the date range to the last 28 days (or longer).
4) Create, save and apply a new user segment (Organic traffic) based on the following configuration: First user medium contains organic.
.
.
5) Use the 'Device Category' dimension as the breakdown dimension.
6) Use the 'Total users' metric as VALUES (instead of 'Event Count')
7) Select 'Page Title and Screen name' from the drop-down menu under STEP +1:
8) Click on the blue bar next to one of the page titles to add a new step to the report, which shows the list of pages users are navigating to.
.
.
Let’s click on the 'Home' page to see which pages users are navigating to from the home page when they visit your website via organic search traffic.
Note: If you want to see the list of events triggered from the 'Home' page, then select 'Event Name' from the drop-down menu under STEP +2:
.
.
9) Hover your mouse over a page title (say 'Home') to see the breakdown of users by device category.
10) Click on the + MORE button to see a bigger list of the pages users are navigating to from the home page.
That’s how you can visualize the traffic from Google organic search in GA4.

Please, don't ignore the leak just because you're not technical. I'm not either! But there's enough in here, and in the reporting from folks investigating, to make it worth your time, promise.
If you're not changing anything about how you do SEO following the Google Leak... You're not paying attention.
I'm not even in search, and I'm changing a whole heap of tactics and strategy! New post & video on SparkToro with details.
I know people like @marktraphagen have shared this info before, but I’m still pretty sure many people still don’t understand these nuances about AI Overviews:
⭐️ AIO only shows to US users who are logged into Google on Chrome, Firefox or Safari
⭐️ incognito mode must be turned off.
⭐️ AIO in Labs (previously SGE) is an experiment that shows different results than what users see *without* the AIO experiment enabled
⭐️ some US users will see AIO without enabling the feature in Labs, or after turning the feature off (these were many of the complaints we previously saw in Google’s community forums)
⭐️ the actual answers for Labs-enabled AIO and AIO without labs can be dramatically different
⭐️ AIO with Labs turned off is the “true” version of what the AIO actually looks like in the wild
⭐️ the beaker symbol next to an AIO is an indication that Labs is tuned ON.
⭐️ Google seems to have scaled back how many non-Labs AIO answers appear for different queries in the last week, especially YMYL queries - but that’s just anecdotal based on my own experience
