@DrAndrewR@cybergibbons There is a monthly protest, much larger run by Critical Mass Edinburgh, but I presume you haven't heard of it?
London and Brighton attract a large number of people. Edinburgh is much, much smaller.
@DrAndrewR@cybergibbons Yes. Back in the day it was more diverse, but the hippies have got older, and a lot of the current participants are naturists. Naked protests do exist in areas where nudity is more normalised. It's only recently that Scotland has allowed naked.
@SayinJimmy @StarryTowers@alex_m_orr@EdinReporter@edinburghpaper@PoliceScotland 2/2 non-sexual nakedness is legal.
This event happens all over the world. Scotland was a late adopter, but it's been going on for 10 years, about 4 completely naked. Almost all people cheer, laugh and take photos. Here's what it's about. https://t.co/Db5oGQirkd
@SayinJimmy @StarryTowers@alex_m_orr@EdinReporter@edinburghpaper@PoliceScotland 1/2 No. It isn't illegal to be naked. You can't change the law for one event! Going about an otherwise legal activity is not made illegal by your state of dress. Provided you are not setting out to alarm or distress people, (Big time, serious worry for your safety alarm.)
@Bottom4Patricia@SaffronKim I understand that the vast majority of sexual predators wear clothes. In other European countries, nudity isn't such an issue. That's actually part of the point. We are also protesting for improved body image/self awareness.
