Very sad.
Such a gentleman, kind & naturally very funny. We only worked together once, but he was a giggler on & off-set & I just adored him.
Too soon, far too soon.
RIP Anthony Head.
Sad to hear Anthony Head has passed away.
The Gold Blend “will they, won’t they” ad campaign was a cultural phenomenon, an ongoing saga that lasted for 6 years, captivating audiences of 30 million. The inevitable kiss even made front page news. A landmark TV moment.
RIP Anthony
A quick story about Anthony Head.
He was of my earliest interviews as an entertainment journalist. It was GILES… from BUFFY. I was nervous.
Towards the end of our conversation, I dried up and forgot my next question… (1/2)
@youlum@Saucertes@CollieTalking@Scott_Wortley By my understanding, there isn't really a concept of a "derelict fund" in Scots property law. "Derelict" applies to land or buildings. Abandoned money is treated as ownerless property (bona vacantia) and passes directly to the Crown via the KLTR.
Intellectually-challenged MPs like @NadiaWhittomeMP have somehow managed to persuade colleagues and activists that there is some point in opposing the EHRC Code of Practice that helps service providers, associations, and those overseeing public functions to comply with the law.
Their antics exemplify the delusional behaviour of the gender identity movement - always misrepresenting reality, always fighting windmills.
It’s a bizarre spectacle.
1. Women’s spaces are for women. It’s irrelevant how the women look.
2. Men don’t belong in women’s spaces. It’s irrelevant how the men look.
3. Most trans-identified men would give at least one ball to look like Sharron Davies.
The EHRC code of practice doesn’t apply to workplaces.
But that hasn’t stopped Unison just misinforming its members and saying that it does.
Unions have been at the forefront of this assault on women’s and gay/lesbian rights and show no signs of changing on this.
With respect Jamie, this isn’t true.
In the 1980’s many towns had a single gay bar. These often gave sanctuary to transexuals and the odd transvestite (because we were being kind and understood they’d get battered elsewhere). None of these men claimed to *be* women, and if they’d claimed to actually be lesbians, they’d have been laughed out the door. At the same time, trans orgs (eg the Beaumont Society) banned gay men from membership. The conflict has always existed.
*Trans people* did nothing in the fight for gay rights. Really, nothing.
When OUR history is co-opted by those who write us out of it, we should call it what it is - a parasitic movement.
Ushering in “gender identity ideology” has irrevocably harmed innumerable children who would otherwise grow up to be gay.
LGB and T organisations came together because LGB had won the argument and the T wanted to hide behind that. And they bought the money in.
Good luck if you want to start trying to reason with trans ideologues. We’ve tried for years. They have no compromise position.
It was always a forced marriage that many didn’t want. And, frankly, it’s now gone beyond abusive. We need out.
There's confusion, so here's that EHRC guidance in plain Sunday Sport language:
'Lads, if you want to play dress up and have a wank, crack on. Just not in the ladies' shithouse, eh?'
@jan_murray@labourlewis Only biological women can and do give birth to babies. There is no such thing as 'birthing people', only women. Most women, and those of us whose work is very centred around birth trauma/medical maternity scandals find this erasure of women extremely offensive.
Given some MPs are struggling with questions like: “why do you object to the thing you’re objecting to”?
Maybe we need to go a little more basic. Let’s start them here ⬇️ with a pictorial format
And then see if we can build the little buttercups up from there
@stellacreasy But Stella it was you that brought up the SI issue in response to questions about the Code, even though it's not an SI (btw what did you think of all the delegated powers in the Assisted Dying Bill?).
Anyway, now you've said the Code's "not right", can you tell us how?
Women need to set up their own unions, ones that believe in women’s sex based rights. And leave the old activist handmaiden ones to the men & subservient women
