We are a group of Waltham residents fighting the housing crisis by advocating for stronger renter protections & building more abundant + affordable homes.
Waltham Inclusive Neighborhoods is a grassroot advocacy campaign of local Waltham residents who want to create a more equitable, affordable, and environmentally sustainable Waltham!
How bad is @MassGovernor's new housing "plan"? It would make Soviet planners blush. Its recommendations totally ignore the market, and it explicitly aims to retain *just 10%* of the young people - like me & my friends a decade ago - who left Massachusetts.
This MLK Day join us from 11-1pm for a day focused on Housing Access for the Waltham community. Together, we’ll empower our community with the knowledge and resources to face the future confidently. Let’s stand strong as a united community!

Housing shortages make homelessness much worse because they shrink the networks of friends and family with spare living space for people in difficulty.
Important new piece from @salimfurth in @WorksInProgMag:
1,000 new homes in Lexington because of zoning reforms compliant with the MBTA Communities Law 🙌🏾
That's 1,000 new homes & opportunities for families, elders, teachers, nurses, first responders & public servants to live, work & stay in their community.

Today’s @BostonGlobe@GlobeOpinion describing the shameful misuse of public resources to block much needed new housing in towns across the Commonwealth. We must do better if we are ever going to solve the housing crisis!

More than 100 Mass communities comply with new MBTA Communities Act. “Communities across Massachusetts are overwhelmingly embracing the MBTA Communities Act," says @CHAPAdotorg CEO Rachel Heller.

TOMORROW! A Community Outreach Meeting will be held at 6pm at the Community and Cultural Center Auditorium to discuss the potential of a new residential building located on the parking deck on the Southern edge of the main Waltham Watch Factory locus off Crescent Street:
Local communities that have embraced the state's MBTA Communities Act, have seen development opportunities increase. Developers and landowners that have historically had a hard time getting approval are now seeing success. https://t.co/snHLfmnp2W
While Massachusetts has pumped nearly $1 billion into its emergency shelter system to help absorb a surge of migration, that money has not changed a fundamental problem: there is simply not enough housing here to go around. https://t.co/daRFKMetQR
Go vote this Tuesday!
The City Clerk is the beating heart of local democracy. In addition to running elections, they also serve as Records Access Officer in @CityofWaltham, responsible for responding to public record requests. Local advocacy would be a lot harder without them!
