We were leafleting the Preston Markets today. Plenty of outrage at the proposal from the billionaire owners – to destroy the current site, replace it with a cramped, expensive shopping centre, and build a bunch of tower blocks – and make themselves another billion in the process.

VS members were at yesterday's community picnic to save the Preston Market from greedy developers. It's disgraceful that at a time when the cost of basics like housing and fruit & veg are going through the roof, this community asset could become just more inaccessible high rise.
