St Cuthbert Gospel is the earliest surviving intact Western book: it is in its original binding, and it has never been restored or resewn. A major acquisition for @britishlibrary in 2011 which @FNL313 was delighted to be able to support with a major grant.
For Women’s History Month today, we remember the Bronte sisters, a trio of gifted writers.
Their most famous novels were Jane Eyre by Charlotte, Wuthering Heights by Emily, and Agnes Grey by Anne. Their memorial sits in Poets' Corner.
