@DPEA62 From my conversations with @62schools it seems that there has been much more academic thought put into remote learning pedagogy and relationships. In person will be daycare with teachers talking at kids, worksheet time, and little to no true teacher socioemotional interaction.
Dear Government:
If it was super safe to open schools you would also be opening movie theaters, having concerts, sorting events, etc. with the same guidelines.
Wear a mask. Face forward. 6 feet apart. Easy.
But you’re not.
MLB has so much money and so many resources. They eat lunch outside and separated. The MLB could not make it one week into the season without an outbreak. Children in school are expected to eat in the classroom, then spend the rest of the day in that same room. @DPEA62
Dear parents, please know we miss your children and want nothing more than to be back in school teaching and learning in person. Please also know the safety of students, families, and our community will always be our top priority.
USA Today,"The trend is consistent with data from Florida. About one-third of children tested in the state for COVID-19 returned positive results, which is higher than the overall statewide positivity rate of 11%, according to state data." @DPEA62@teachersafety
Parents, if your child is returning to school, PLEASE spend the last week of break having him/her practice wearing a mask for 6+ hours/day. The first day back will be stressful and mask discomfort will only make it worse. #BackToSchool
