We @audubonsociety developed a new framework to translate hemisphere scaled processes, like bird #Migration, into local conservation actions.
People need to be involved in every step. A fancy map can only do much. Local capacity and interest is key!

Conservation is about people. That's what's so wonderful about the Bird Migration Explorer. It connects people to bird migration, it connects people to the conservation challenges birds face along the way, and most importantly, it connects people to other people across the globe.
Its rewarding when the spiffy new #MotusWTS station we just put up @CorkscrewSwamp picks up 3 Purple Martins (@J_Buler) on their fall #migration. Looks like they all left the DE area and arrived in FL within days of each other. Let the fall migration fun begin!!
🌟NEW PAPER ALERT! @audubonsociety's Science Team & nearly 40 collaborators integrated migration data sources in a novel method to comprehensively estimate bird species’ spatial patterns during spring & fall migration in @ESAApplications (soon to be OA)! 🧵https://t.co/eVtEALDod1
It's rarely an "either / or" in ecology. So understanding how #climatechange and habitat loss interact to influence bird populations is so important for effective conservation, particularly during understudied times of the annual cycle....the winter!
📢 New paper alert @GlobalChangeBio! I'm so proud to have led the science team @audubonsociety on this study analyzing 90 years of Christmas Bird Count data to reveal the impacts of climate and land-use change on winter bird distributions! https://t.co/mxYmeYG8JF See 🧵for more!
It's so important to have an accurate view of history. @MikkoJimenez thank you for helping the conservation community see the whole picture. The perceived integrity of a person should not exclude their worst qualities.
It's that magical time if year again when millions of birds are migrating over our heads each night. It's not just the pristine forests they need during migration, sometimes there are migratory gems amidst a sea of agriculture and altered landscapes. https://t.co/fAhLzNWI9P
I bird because it's my job, & I LOVE my job.
Until we secure a #BirdUnion no matter how many articles/videos you see I don't have job security or a clear path to promotion.
All workers should have say in codifying workplace policy & working conditions

Wow I just got a sneak peek at @audubonsociety's soon-to-be-released Migratory Bird Conservation Platform and it's jaw-dropping. They'll have interactive migration pathways for ~140 species (including my Phainopepla data 😉). It's beautiful! Stay tuned! https://t.co/1E1WMg3Mue
Easily some of the best figs I've seen in a paper. Awesome work @kadambarid @scienceizgolden. Way to think outside of the box and make a unique contribution to the science community.
