👏🏽Ryan Coogler so DESERVES this! I’m stuffed with Black pride and joy right now! The joy, knowledge and entertainment he brings with his master storytelling is unmatched. I love this for US ✊🏾
CONGRATULATIONS to Michael and Ryan on their Oscar wins! We talked about their very first collab FRUITVALE STATION 13 years ago, and now they win their first Oscars together! Black men loving and supporting one another. So cool !!
‘SINNERS’ was monumental. Congratulations to Ryan Coogler, Michael B. Jordan, Delroy Lindo, Miles Caton, Wunmi Mosaku, and everyone else who made history this season.
I can't wait for another film of Black excellence to break barriers and leave us ecstatic to see everyone win like ‘SINNERS’ did.
Spike Lee says he “wanted a little more love” for ‘SINNERS’ at the Oscars.
“My one big, big, big disappointment is my brother Delroy Lindo.”

Autumn Durald Arkapaw Becomes First Woman to Win Cinematography Oscar
Arkapaw also made history as the first Black-Filipino American to take home a Best Cinematography award.

Autumn Durald Arkapaw made history as the first woman to win an Oscar for Best Cinematography for her work on 'Sinners' — and Ryan Coogler made sure her son was there to see it.
Ryan Coogler won his first-ever Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for “Sinners.” Coogler is the second Black writer to win the award after Jordan Peele won for “Get Out” in 2018. “Sinners” broke the record for the most nominations — 16! — for any film in #Oscars history.
Appreciation post for Ryan and Zinzi Coogler. Thank you for seeing and showing us in all our depth, complexity, pain, and beauty. Congratulations on setting and continually raising the bar. We are rewarded by your catalogue of films, your vision, your fearlessness, and genius.
Ryan Coogler has now added his name to legacy. Following tonight's win, Coogler makes history as the second Black filmmaker to win the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
Jordan Peele first broke that barrier in March 2018 when he became the first Black writer to win in the category for 'Get Out,' reshaping the genre and the industry in the process.
These wins signify Black storytelling is original. And when given the space, it is undeniable. 🖤
