Tau undergoes extensive post-translational modifications, but what truly stands out is the contrasting expression of these modifications in healthy and Alzheimer's afflicted brains. π§ π‘
Our approach to investigate PTMs in tau revolves around chemical synthesis. We successfully combined 11 distinct fragments through a sequence of highly efficient ligations to produce the longest 2N4R isoform.
