PhD student investigating the effects of organic matter on the air-sea CO2 exchange. Background in Chemistry and Environmental & Sustainability ๐๐ฟ๐โ๏ธ
History was made today at #COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh as parties agreed to the establishment of a long-awaited loss and damage fund for assisting developing countries that are particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change.
#COP27 is a gigantic ego fest of hypocrites who strut around telling us plebs how to save the planet while they fly into Egypt on private jet for a virtue signalling jamboree sponsored by Coca-Cola who produce 120 billion plastic bottles a year - 99% made from fossil fuels.
Wishing Her Majesty The Queen a very happy 96th birthday today!
An inspiration to so many across the UK, the Commonwealth and the world, itโs particularly special to be celebrating in this #PlatinumJubilee year.
๐ฌ "Looking at those taking climate action within their communities can, in turn, help inspire us to replicate projects within our own local contexts."

Now is the time to invest into #GreenEnergy let's say no to "quick fix" solutions @GOVUK@UKGovScotland @UKGovWales and do the right thing for our planet ๐๐ฒ๐ if we can get a vaccine developed quick, we can certainly do this ๐ช๐ป #GreenFuture#Oilprices#ClimateChange
#InternationalWomensDay is not for celebrating. It is for protesting against and raising awareness about the fact that people are still being oppressed or treated differently because of their gender.
Happy Friday everyone! This week let's showcase Katrina Walker's work @WalkerKJ_ who's investigating organic matter in the marine environment and how it affects the air-sea gas exchange. Check out her video below ๐๐ป๐๐๐ฟ

Great workshop so far learning how advanced satellite observations paired with insitu data can help us better understand #oceancarbon and how it changes over space and time ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ฐ๏ธ #ClimateChange#ClimateEmergency#CarbonCycle
Meet Eira, one of our PhD students studying interactions of Manganese (Mn) with dissolved organic matter and whether this contributes to the release of CO2. Check out her research video here:
