The Mid-Year Progress Report explores 2023’s progress in the high-permanence carbon dioxide removal market thru the first half of this year.

Now, for some key learnings:

Purchases 💸
- The first half of 2023 has been a defining period for the carbon removal market
- Purchases soared to approximately 3.4M tonnes
- Strong growth of 4.4x in H1, compared to *full-year 2022*
Deliveries 📦
- Despite the soaring purchases in 2023, delivery of CDR lags
- 33,636 tonnes have been delivered in 2023, pacing slightly ahead of the same period 2022
