Many of those icons owe their success to the very young people who buy their tickets, stream their songs, fill their stadiums, and make them household names. Yet when those same young people raise their voices over issues that matter to them, too many public figures disappear.

You don’t have to agree with Arijit’s views. But the willingness to express an opinion despite backlash deserves respect in any democracy.

Standing by your beliefs when it comes at a personal or professional cost is what defines character—not staying silent because it’s convenient.

Respect is earned not by pleasing everyone, but by refusing to abandon your conscience.
