Human Trafficking is slavery that plagues MS each day. Programs in MS such as the NHTH works jointly with service providers, law enforcement to help the victims and survivors of HT. The NASW supports the NHTH to help address and eliminate human trafficking. #wkusocialworkpolicy

@bethany_bottoms I found that MS has organized transportation services locally that assist the elderly in getting to their medical appointments, complete errands, and participate in recreational activities. I wonder if this could be a program that Kentucky could adopt.

@Brianna92313022 It is unfortunate that our elderly are mistreated when it comes to the needed care for them to live their daily lives. We should never turn away ppl that seek the appropriate medical attention or insurance because of their age, gender, race, orientation, or financial status.

MS long-term care insurance is available to all senior citizen but at what cost? It cost around $1000 to $7000, which is expensive for some elderly ppl to obtain care. NASW support programs & resources that assist the elderly in obtaining inexpensive LTCI. #WKUSocialWorkPolicy

@Krislin_diann_ I could not agree more, some SW move at such a fast pace when dealing with other ppl issues that they forget about their own health issues. This is why the self-care system is set in place to assist SW to sit back, take a breath that asset their mental state.

@Brianna92313022 Many African American go through life with a mental illness, which includes conditions like anxiety disorders, addictive behavior, PTSD, and depression. You would think that the challenge would be the illness. The barriers placed around the needed services is the major challenge.

@bethany_bottoms Many Rural areas often encounter barriers to health care services. Financial means to pay, transportation to services locations, and the quality of care without compromising their privacy. These barriers need to be addressed for ppl to receive the appropriate service required.

@britt_spencer12 It is great that all 50 states have adopted the expansion. This information needs to be distributed to the public and down to the lowest level. This would make the expansion beneficial to those that need this program. I will definitely look into this information further.
