Former drug-user and mistake-maker. I now love happiness and peace, and saving/spending money to attain those 2 things. Wealth is saying: "I love my life."
5 years ago I left prison with 3 goals: 1) Quit drugs. 2) Stay free. 3) Get a job in a new world making $10/hour without any work history or experience. I accomplished these goals, and then set bigger goals. It's amazing what you can do when you believe, try, and quit self-harm.
@realEstateTrent@Traxxas I also went through this RC car stage in my 40s - Now that I had money, I could finally relive a childhood dream I never got to experience as a kid. Worth every penny!
@thorku The ridiculous analysis nauseated me yesterday. The guy just told the truth: He's competing with another guy for a $100 million dollar contract. He just wants his chance to prove he can earn it. Nothing personal.
@realfrugalmogul Thanks! I completed the first-half of this patio when I had less money and experience. 8 years later, my pockets were deeper, I had more free time, and better skills, so decided to finish it the right way.
@realfrugalmogul Just read your patio size is 12 x 25'. The deck above this patio is 12x18', and the patio is bigger than the deck. So I bet this is almost the exact size as your future patio. I went 3-6" deep with gravel. 1-2" of sand, and then the pavers on top.
@BudgetsAreSexy Finally joined the 7-figure club! Thanks for inspriation J$!
We would have reached this milestone last year, but I spent $150K cash in '24-'25 renovating our 4 rentals. Now they'll be cash-cows for next 20 years. Goal for 2nd Million is 5 years or less!
@SteveOnSpeed Its probably why I've done so well as a salesperson and landlord... I care... which immediately separates me and makes all the difference.
@geoffschwartz We found it off this lawyer channel I watch, and we've been laughing about it and singing it for the last 3 days: https://t.co/zQEoD3pivY
@retirein1500@GenXmillionaire If your marriage can survive one, you'll probably be married forever. Because if you can love each other through one massive renovation, you can probably love each other anywhere!
@retirein1500@GenXmillionaire Dang, live in flips are ROUGH! We lived though a 45-day complete kitchen gut and remodel once; including removing walls. Our house was a disaster-zone, Eating out of a microwave on paper plates got old FAST! Can't believe you did it for 2 decades!
@realEstateTrent Mine was a stupid Math 101 class: On the last day, the professor gave an inspiring lecture on compound interest and investing for 15 minutes.
That 15 minutes which had nothing to do with math 101 inspired me the rest of my life.
@nacholeber Most "normal employees" make hard decisions regarding work/life balance when accepting a promotion too: Next job up from me requires lots of travel, but I don't want to be gone all the time. Can't accept the pay of a high-profile role, and expect the perks of a low-profile role.
