Remembering Hurricane Andrew, this day 30 years ago:
On the evening of August 19, a second @53rdWRS Hurricane Hunter was unable to locate a center at 5000 ft., and the minimum pressure had risen. NHC estimated that Andrew had weakened a bit to 45 mph. #Andrew30

Currently a line of storms is moving in from the NW, towards the I-10 corridor. The main threats we can expect are heavy rain, gusty winds and possible lightning. #HOUTWX#TXWX#GLSWX#BCSWX
At 920 am, NWS Brownsville radar was tracking an area of strong t-storms moving north at 20-25 mph along the Mexican coast south of SPI. These storms will produce wind gusts to 25-30 mph, lightning and periods of heavy rains to the SE portion of Cameron Co. through 1030 am.#RGVwx
Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected ahead of a cold front Thanksgiving Day. Showers will be possible through the rest of the week with temperatures cooling into the 60s. Chilly nighttime lows are expected following Thursday's cold front. #txwx#stxwx
