Scott Pelley fires back at President Trump during @NYTimes podcast with @LuluGNavarro. Pelley: “I’ve never worn the uniform, but I’ve been in combat for this country.” Citing his experience covering combat: “I’m not aware that the President of the United States has ever done any of those things for his country.” Pelley, getting emotional: “‘Stupid.’ I can take that. ‘Stiff,’ yeah, probably. ‘Don’t care about the country.’ I’ve never worn the uniform, but I’ve been in combat for this country. In Afghanistan and Iraq, Kuwait. Been shot at. Spent nights in fox holes filling up with water in the desert. I’m not aware that the President of the United States has ever done any of those things for his country....You become a journalist because you love the country....There is no democracy without journalism. It can’t be done. And that is why I am a journalist.”

"I feel like other than losing a child there's nothing worse you could go through and it builds you up and it strengthens you beyond measure. That's why I got Philippians 4:13 and the date tattooed on my neck. I could do all things through Christ who strengthens me but I was strengthened on April 13 when I lost my mother. That's been my favorite Bible verse my whole entire life since I was little. I didn't know the significance it would have in my life when I became an adult. But what I do know is that I truly can do anything when I walk in faith, when I walk with the angels beside me. I feel anything's possible, I feel nothing's impossible...
I'm just grateful to be in this position because I know a lot of friends in mind that are not here to see this moment. I know a lot of people I love tremendously that aren't here to give me that hug or to give me that text message. I'm doing this for them. I do this for them, I do it for my mother's country, I do it for everybody in Dominican Republic, I do it for everyone in the city that welcomed my mother when she immigrated over. I do it for all my family in New Jersey that allowed me to be raised and allowed me to love this game of basketball and allowed me to be a kid with my mother and enjoy those times. It takes a tribe to get here and it takes a village and I'm so blessed that I've had the village I've had in my life to get to this point"
"If you lose a parent...you just look for signs and I'll take any sign I could get and I prayed to her strong before that possession…I take it as a sign my mom was there with me so I appreciate her so much"

Comparison is something I've had to fight hard.
And for a long time I didn't even realize what I was really doing. Every time I looked at someone else's life, their team, their title, their success, I was quietly telling God He made a mistake with mine.
But here's what I've learned: you cannot be grateful and comparing at the same time. I believe they cannot coexist.
So today I want to challenge you — stop auditing someone else's blessing. Your calling, your story, your design is not an accident. God doesn't make mistakes.

“Please don’t ever judge me for wins and losses that’s not who I am as a coach.
Relationships- you want it for them.”
Championships change careers.
Relationships change lives.
Athletes. Coaches.
Don’t just chase wins. Change people.
That’s the real legacy.

After losing to the district champion, the young girl broke into tears on the mat. But her dad was right there to lift her spirits, turning disappointment into strength. It is a beautiful reminder that every girl needs her dad.
You can hear Jaylen yell “that’s not basketball.”
He’s right. A bunch of stars have adopted this specific “drive hard left, draw contact on a semi-impossible shot, then flail” move and it keeps working. Refs have to stop calling it. It sucks to watch.

Do you notice the blue dots? Probably not. Those are the actual investigations.
Law enforcement needs more resources, more support… a bigger rescue team.
This is a fight of good vs. evil, and we are losing.
Here’s Michael J. Fox’s opener at the Actor’s Awards tonight. This man is one of the most inspiring humans I’ve ever come across because he never fails to remain optimistic. Seeing him tonight already makes this show worth watching. Great moment.

.@JamesTalarico: Christian Nationalists walk around with a mouth full of scripture and a heart full of hate.
Don't tell me what you believe, show me how you treat other people, and I'll tell you what you believe.
Jesus didn't tell us to love our churches, our doctrines, or our scriptures. He told us to love our neighbors—regardless of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, or immigration status. When my religion tries to come between me and my neighbor, I will choose my neighbor.
Not once in the entire Bible does Jesus ask us to worship him. All he asks is that we follow him. Love like he loved: welcome the stranger, feed the hungry, heal the sick, and free the oppressed. They will know we are Christians by our love.
