Enjoyed always knowing the WHY with @coachrebbrock when I hired him at HH!
He was able to build on our strength program from @WgSkelton to help reach our peak. There’s a reason he’s in the HOF!!
I can’t be the only S&C coach who’s exhausted from the local clown show folks pretending to be trainers with no qualifications, right?
Complete disregard for physiology/science and energy systems. 🚩🚩
I’m not in the entertainment biz.
But that seems to sell? Idk anymore.
Soreness should not be how you determine if a workout was
good or not.
If you are sore to the point you can't move, you probably did too much.
Some soreness is good. To the point where you can't move, means you did more than you needed too.
Adding weight to the bar is fun.
There are other ways to measure progress.
How is the bar moving?
Is it moving faster?
Is it more controlled?
Is your ROM better?
Getting stronger doesn’t always mean adding more weight.
It's a rough part of the year.
Holidays, parties, traveling, and inlaws.
Our routine gets broken and its easy to shut down and say, I'll start again next year.
With 6 weeks left.
Even 2x a week, for just 45 min can lead to big changes before the new year.
Don't stop. Keep going.
@CoachNoon45 @missEmitche11 @Joe_Eisenmann I see kids three times a week for 45 minutes each day. Fitnessgram scores don’t change anything. I already have to choose between physical activity time, or teaching health/nutrition lessons.
The myth of mental toughness
- Navy SEAL
- Tight rope walker
Both mentally tough right...The absence of mental toughness is mental weakness/panic
Switch a SEAL and a tight rope walker, they'll both show panic
There's no such thing as tough
There's only trained or untrained
@CoachB_LPHS In 7 years I had 7 days off in the summer, and 5 of those were for my honeymoon. The first day of summer after I left the HS, my daughter was born. Lol.
@missEmitche11 @timkettenring @Coach_Kru Being able to talk to him and Heffner was awesome for my growth as a coach. Willoughby’s ex phys classes were another level too!
@missEmitche11 @sgfeld27@coach_mel_redd@CoachRyanDavis Being to a few conferences now, while not coaching has been interesting. Definitely a different view point listening.
