OK. Saw the Masters of the Universe movie.
Thoughts.
1] Bro, if you went in there expecting DEEP then you are in the wrong movie.
2] He-Man has always been a toy commercial for toys for lower-grade-school children. So... the movie should and did have thoughts and humor aimed at their market.
3] It's a dated product. So the kids who they hope WILL buy their products are being brought there for the fathers who DID buy their products and watch their advertisements (ahem) TV show 40 years ago.
4] Therefore there are as many Gen-X dad jokes and innuendos clearly designed to go over the grade schooler heads as there are jokes for grade-schoolers.
5] EVERYONE in the movie, from the writer's room to the actors, know that they're doing fun, stupid, kids show humor. And they hang a lamp on it, chew the scenery, and have fun.

It was dumb. It was fun. The special effects were on par with any movie I have ever seen, genuine eye candy.

If you go into that expecting relatively pure dumb fun, you got your money's worth.

If you want to be pretentious about Shakespeare, go get a BritBox subscription.

the funniest part of TRAs calling everything they dislike bioessentialism is that gender itself is bioessentialism. gender is the idea that sex & personality are linked. women are dainty, submissive, & feminine, males are tough, dominant, & masculine. they believe if you don’t adhere to your sexes stereotypes, then you must be the other sex! how progressive!😍😭

There is more western cultural relevance in and foundational values found in ‘Masters of the Universe’ than anything that Nolan can cough up out of his bland pretentious Odyssey garbage.
