That storm hugging the Texas coast will have impacts to Louisiana to Georgia and the Florida panhandle in flood watch no matter if it gets a name or not:
Loggerhead sea turtles ๐ข donโt just migrate willy-nilly. As it turns out, they follow a narrow band of ideal chlorophyll and heat levelsโwhich stretches across the Pacific and moves north and south with the seasons!
In honor of #WorldSeaTurtleDay, see how data collected from tagged turtles and @NOAAโs #satellites reveals this migration pattern!
Sheโs working on her roar! Our little lion queen is the main event, but she still needs a name! For a $5 donation, guests can submit a name for our cub. Keepers will vet the suggestions and come up with the top choice. Submit yours here: https://t.co/wbZsGE90MD
We're expecting the first tropical storm of the season this week, bringing several inches of flooding rain to the Texas and Louisiana coasts. https://t.co/58YaEtzZoH
A cold front will drop into the region Wednesday, bringing showers and thunderstorms to the region. There is the potential for at least a few thunderstorms to become severe Wednesday afternoon into the overnight hours. Keep an eye on the forecast. #MoWx#IlWx#StlWx#MidMoWx
All eyes on the next super soaker which is now invest #90L (60% from NHC). Surprisingly deep convection continues with this inverted trough of low pressure along the northern Mexican coast. This has a chance to get over the water and become a brief tropical storm before contributing to VERY HEAVY RAINFALL from the Texas coast into LA,MS,AL and GA (regardless of status) over the next few days. Getting this thing tangled up with an old front should produce double digit rain totals in spots . NBM seems to be favoring MS as a sweet spot for the heaviest rain, but frankly several areas could FLOOD from TX into the Gulf states.
Hurricane hunter aircraft is scheduled to investigate this tonight and tomorrow should it emerge off the coast.
