Very pleased to say I passed my Masters viva this morning! My work involved using data collected from hardware models to test a Darcian numerical model and determine if such a model could be used to simulate rapid flow in the near-surface region of blanket peatlands.
Our next seminar is on Monday 2nd Dec by @GeomorphMark who will explore how geomorphology and hydrology can inform malaria control programs! Send us a DM with your email for a link to join.
Thank you so much for bringing me out @Thomas_Kelly1! Had a fantastic time in a beautiful landscape, nice to be back amongst some peat but also see some stunning rivers. More pics below. 1/3
We have now sorted out our drone imagery from the field trip! Here we all are coring in an arctic fen near Kiruna. Thanks to @WildAtHartley for his drone piloting skills in what were very windy conditions.

Nature emergency? What emergency? @TowerHamletsNow destroying nature all for "tidiness" in an already nature-deprived borough. Did the long grass bother anyone? Didn't it look nicer and provide shelter, flowers, and pollen for insects? 1st pic: before. 2nd pic: after. Inept.
It's also ironic that @TowerHamletsNow are promoting #cleanairday (in 8 days) when vegetation can help tackle pollution by acting like air filters. Maybe @TowerHamletsNow should think about the action they can (or not) take first before asking others to do the same? Incompetent.
@AlastairHackney GoogleMyMaps is a good tool for making quick maps with text/images wherever you want them. The map can then be shared and embedded etc. Particularly useful when sharing with people who have not worked with more advanced GIS before!

My Mum is doing a 13 mile walk in Brecon with the Alzheimers Soc. Our Grandad developed dementia in the latter years of his life and it was horrible to witness the impact of it on him but also everyone in the family. Please consider donating ๐
