We are excited to welcome Dr. Lei Yu as the new Program Director of our Integrated Interventional Radiology Residency!
Originally from China, Dr. Yu moved to Omaha to attend medical school at UNMC, where she also completed her diagnostic radiology residency and interventional radiology fellowship. Since joining the faculty in 2022, she has been dedicated to patient care, resident education, and mentorship. She is passionate about guiding trainees through the milestones of residency, fostering both their technical expertise and their growth as confident, thoughtful physicians. As program director, Dr. Yu is committed to creating an environment where residents feel supported, challenged, and inspired throughout their training.
In addition to her role as program director, Dr. Yu serves as Vice Chair of the SIR Women in IR Committee, where she works to expand opportunities, mentorship, and support for women in the field. She is also faculty advisor for the Radiology Interest Group, mentoring medical students as they explore radiology and pursue their career goals.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Yu enjoys traveling the world with her family and balancing her children’s busy sports schedules with her professional commitments.
