Sanders to Tillman here on a dig route off play action Wednesday at OTAs. Sanders does an excellent job transferring his weight from his backside to his frontside, allowing the ball to come out on time with real anticipation. Love the confidence and accuracy on throws between the hashes. Some of Sanders’ best work comes on in-breaking routes where timing, touch, and anticipation all show up. #Browns
"There's no secret, Ozzie (Newsome) and me are best friends. Ozzie had nothing but great things to say about Todd (Monken). And trust me, if he had anything bad, he would tell me. He had nothing but praise for Todd and his coaching style. He's going to get that little bit extra out of the players."
🚨 @HanfordTopDawg w/ @CLETalkingHeads on #Browns head coach Todd Monken
A couple of things stand out, even through just a few individual drills with Jared Verse. Extremely good “get-off.” His reaction time is fantastic. The next thing that stands out, even on bags and coaches, is his violent hands. His hands are always in the chest plate of the offensive tackle. I think being a five technique end might unleash Verse because it’s just pin your ears back and go. Very impressive young man. #Browns
Denzel Boston is a very detailed route runner and exceptionally fluid in and out of his breaks for a bigger receiver. Here he does a great job on a deep over route during today’s OTAs. #Browns
Monken said he believes the team has 4 of its 5 starting offensive linemen figured out: Tytus Howard, Zion Johnson, Elgton Jenkins and Spencer Fano. Monken said where Jenkins lines up -- guard or center -- and the fifth starter remains to be seen.
I do like that Verse steps up in the biggest games. Verse has 30 pressures and 4 sacks in 4 career gms (excl meaningless week 18 2024 when everyone sat) vs SEA. 32 pressures and 3 sacks in 5 career playoff games as well. He destroyed SEA last year and had the two highest single game pressures of any defender in a game vs SEA
Few Browns notes on Myles Garrett trade from @SportsCenter
*Browns' desire for a young, ascending pass rusher (and Jared Verse, specifically), shrunk candidate pool. Per team source, this was a Rams-specific deal because Rams 'hounded' CLE for a while.
*Myles Garrett did not request a trade similar to last offseason. Team made deal because due to the trade value.
*Don't sense this is a fire sale. Was told a hard no on Denzel Ward's availability, for example.
Berry: “We recognize the unexpected nature of this trade, but it opens up great opportunities for our franchise. We are excited to welcome Jared into the organization, along with the cap flexibility and draft pick resources to deploy to the rest of the roster that will allow us to add to our budding core on both sides of the ball.”
Rams and Browns started talking about the Myles Garrett trade since draft time. One of the reasons they selected Ty Simpson in first round was because they knew they’d be without AT LEAST next years one. Rams were hoping to make it all draft capital and fought to not include Verse in deal to the end but he was a necessary Browns. @NFLonFOX
Now agreed to and official: The #Browns are trading Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the #Rams for star edge Jared Verse, a 2027 1st-round, a 2028 2nd round, and a 2029 3rd, per me, @AdamSchefter and @TomPelissero.
The offseason's biggest trade is final and real.
The absolute worst part of stopping for gas on a road trip is having to get back on the highway and deal with all the fucking idiots you passed 40miles ago
