Busoga Kingdom says it will reject the commissioning of Busoga University following its renovation by the UPDF Engineering Brigade. Kingdom Prime Minister and National Planning Authority Executive Director Dr Joseph Muvawala Nsekere says the renovated facility falls short of the standards expected of a university, describing it as more like a secondary school than a university.

@ntvuganda I agree , we have a fully fledged Regional refferal and teaching hospital, why not advocate for a medical university in jinja ,instead it's KIU and other tertiary institutions benefiting while leaving us the basoga struggling to achieve our careers elsewhere

YESTERDAY IN HISTORY — 13 SEPTEMBER 2014

On this day in 2014,
His Majesty William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV ascended the throne as the fourth Kyabazinga of Busoga.

His historic installation ceremony took place at the Busoga Kingdom headquarters in Bugembe, Jinja, marking a significant chapter in the history of the Kingdom.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was among the dignitaries who attended the historic coronation ceremony.

Omukama Solomon Gafabusa Iguru I of Bunyoro was the one who traveled to Busoga to perform the enthronement rituals and crown the new Kyabazinga

A truly memorable day in the history of Busoga Kingdom.
