@JLRed5@Matt_Pinner I think there is also tribalism at play, where people support their tribe even if they know they are wrong. But in that case, they know it is a lie, but won't admit they are wrong.
@Dhawks1839Karen@Amelia558rs Using your analogy, I don't necessarily think God's recipe is off. I think that humans have stereotypes of what a male and female should be and that isn't consistent with reality, human nature, and what God created. The "perfect" male or female changes every generation.
@gwilkie80@Amelia558rs I think that is the difference. People back then eventually realized they didn't have to conform to a stereotype and accepted themselves. Today, kids are told to pick a stereotype and told they need the correct anatomy for their chosen stereotype.
@Amelia558rs I knew people who didn't conform to gender stereotypes. They weren't confused about their anatomy. They knew they were a boy or a girl. They just didn't think the stereotype applied to them. Some hide in the closet. Some expressed their true nature.
@lil_nitelite@Amelia558rs The way that generation viewed gender and sexuality was different. You could be a masculine female or a feminine male or be neutral. You were breaking stereotypes by expressing your true nature. You didn't have to change gender to cross dress or be attracted to the same sex.
@Amelia558rs Instead of thinking they were a different gender, most people realized that they didn't have to comply with gender stereotypes. Masculine females didn't have to become a man to be masculine, and vice versa, for example.
@OpenAI Can you please work on your onboarding process? You are asking me to pay for two Business seats AND one Plus seat... for one person with two workspaces. I should not have to pay for three seats for a single person. A plan for this use case would be nice.
@elonmuskPBG It's undetermined. If pichnic is a typo and you meant picnic, then a minimum of two people went. There could have been others who came along. If pichnic is not a typo, it's still undetermined, but with a minimum of zero, since it still doesn't say if anyone else went.
@vxylily Yes. I already do that. The funny thing is once and awhile I will get a female who will be offended and say they can open the door themselves. I just say "I know", and then hold the door open for the men walking behind her. It is about kindness, not gender, race, or color.
@greaterfiend@thorndyke_art@NoContextHumans That was part of a recent bill they passed in Congress signed by the President. It is a temporary measure and expires in a few years unless renewed.
@Sadie_NC Depends if they are a threat to you or others. Even if someone is unarmed, they can still be a threat. If they are truly surrendering or fleeing, you can't shoot them even if they are armed.
@greaterfiend@thorndyke_art@NoContextHumans Most people pay with credit cards these days, so those tips get reported to the IRS. And currently tips aren't taxed on your federal income taxes.
@ThePoliticalHQ@NoContextHumans The customer always pays for labor, unless the restaurant is new or failing. The customer can pay the worker directly via tips or they can pay the company for labor and the company gives part of the money to staff. But the customer always pays for labor. Not the owners.
@GrahamLeakey @thorndyke_art@NoContextHumans A compulsory service charge is basically a forced tip. Remember, the customer pays for labor via tips, increased prices, or service fees. The owner doesn't pay employees out of their own pockets unless it's a startup or failing.
@thorndyke_art@NoContextHumans The problem is the owners tend to be more stingy with pay than customers, which is why good employees in the U.S. prefer being tipped. And they get to keep 100% of the tips. With wages, you only get what your employer is willing to pay, after they take their cut.
