i regret to inform you that personal growth rarely comes from acquiring new knowledge and almost always from:
- getting humiliated
- showing up terrified and doing it anyway
- admitting you might be the problem

@nntaleb Heard it said recently that its "easier to abide by your priciniples 100% of the time, than 90%". I don't know you well enough to know what your principles are, but I respect any man that is steadfast in their beliefs.

Universal Likability is a metric of "Zero Specificity."
In Information Theory, a signal that matches every receiver carries no unique data. It is just White Noise.
• High-Fidelity Signal = Narrow Bandwidth (High Rejection).
• Low-Fidelity Signal = Broad Bandwidth (Universal Approval).
If you aren't generating "Static" (Hate) for the wrong receivers, your frequency is too broad. Polarization is a requirement for transmission.

@nntaleb "Start by being warm, pleasant, & generous w/every person you meet; but if someone tries to exercise power over you, exercise power over him; & if he messes w/you, remember to keep messing w/him long after he has forgotten about it".

Dostoevsky wrote this after nearly being executed:

“When I look back at my life, I feel pain not because of suffering, but because of wasted time. I see how carelessly I lived, how often I ignored the quiet voice of my soul, how rarely I understood the value of a single moment. Only when death stood before me did I realize that life is not merely existence—it is a miracle. Every minute is a treasure, and in every breath, there is the possibility of happiness.”

Despite the hate, Windows 11 is now in use by over 1 billion people worldwide, Microsoft confirms.

Windows 11 has reached that 1 billion number faster than Windows 10 did, a huge milestone for Microsoft and a strong reminder than although a lot of people don't like this version, it is still the dominant desktop OS and the default choice for many people.

With 1 billion Windows 11 users, Microsoft needs to focus on ensuring those users remain happy on Windows, and aren't encouraged to switch to other platforms. Will it be up for the task?
