French "typhon" comes from Latin "typhon" (strong wind), itself from ancient greek Τυφῶν (tuphon). It enters the French vocabulary in the 16th century via the Portuguese word "tufão", brought back to Europe by Portuguese sailors who got it from South Asian or East Asia

I've said this before but I've always loved how the Irish language frames emotion. In Irish, 'Tá brón orm' translates directly to 'There is is sadness on me' which is a lovely way of illustrating the impermanence of feeling, showing that all feelings will pass in time
