@USSoccerColl Is it weird to see a hint of McKennie in Cremaschi’s game? Just the work rate, willingness to bring energy and intensity, and his dangerous late runs, all reminds me a bit of McKennie’s impact further up the field of recent years.
Not to compare the players, but a compliment imo
Celebrating legacy night by losing.
A symbolic representation of the destruction of the history and culture of the team by Jason Levien.

@USSoccerColl Honestly kinda glad they are sparing him for the moment. Let the new manager get in, let them sort what to do with Pirani and start fresh next season with a different gameplan.
DC United dropping a season ticket holder announcement for a friendly with Club America which said STH’s have to pay extra for, while simultaneously asking them to renew for next year, is so cynical and greedy that you have to respect that hustle attempt
After 7+ years, today is my last day at The Athletic. I'm going to do something I'm not very good at here - celebrate myself.
Here are 20 of my best stories, in no particular order - I've written hundreds of features for the site, so this was a bit of a challenge.
@PitchPass Kijima is so willing to send it at any moment, it has also put Schnegg in a couple tough spots with some poorly timed turnovers. Kijima and Pirani are going to draw a LOT of fouls if they can be this annoying all year.
@kerrc17 The ball was great but he had all day to move forward and pick the pass. Nice little combo moments, but also blew a 3v2 passing it right to the defender. Overall brought the energy and played pretty well.
@MattDoyle76 Hurts not seeing Aaron Herrera in there. I know the assists dried up but he has been so vital for DC, consistently DC’s second best player most nights.
@Brendanukkah@PitchPass Exactly this. He is a gamer, he has that edge that thrives in this culture, but we could really use that DP slot on an open play goal creator.
@PitchPass The way Lesesne has had our buildup set up, is it crazy to say Herrera is a better fit? The CB/RB/RWB space he occupies within a single game is so crucial to counteract the opponent's first line of pressure.
gimme Herrera, pure homerism talking I'm sure 😂
@CreativeMid96 @PitchPass Of course, and I expect a lot of roster movement over the next year or two. I’ll give Lesesne/Mackay benefit of the doubt for now to add talent.
But the guys showing the belief in the shstem bodes well for that future. And that belief just gave hope that Pirani can be part of it
When Lesesne talks about an identity and an expectation to push for more, he should play this game’s stoppage time as the tape every. single. time.
What a way to fight back despite adversity from happenstance, referees, and some questionable sportsmanship. #VamosUnited
@andrew_wiebe He has thrown himself into Bartlett twice off the ball now, the first drew the foul that Hany scored, yellow for Bartlett. Second time right out of the half, late whistle for a foul and no card. Felt like NBA for a moment.
