@OctopusEnergy got a smart meter installed yesterday. Trying to install home mini. I live on the first floor in a flat, meters are two floors down. I understand this is NEVER gonna work!? Am I wrong?

@HMRCcustomers Thank you Tom. There's no queue or anything though. The 'unavailable' response is instant. It seems to me the webchat avenue is quite broken. It seems to we can only reach HMRC by phone. :(

@vktrnrdlng A parallel algorithm could use O(N^2) Work but actually finish in ~O(N) Time. But it feels highly inefficient to most programmer's brains.

@vktrnrdlng I know many programmers don't care/know about algorithm complexity. O(n) and all that. I think even less have hear about parallel algorithm analysis where we separate Work from Time.

@vktrnrdlng Well, there's still Amdahl's law (or the universal law of computation scalability). In my experience a lot of code has necessary sequential steps in them that cannot benefit from using more cores. The 'embarrassingly parallel' (or adjacent) stuff has already moved to the gpu :D

@PhilipsCare_UK I have a Philips air purifier 800i compact, AC0850/31. Could you please direct me to a webpage where I can buy a replacement filter? I already bought the wrong one from Amazon because it’s not clear. The Philips product page also doesnt link to a compatible filter
