Two years ago today, the Supreme Court upheld Donald Trump’s Muslim ban.
Islamophobia cannot and will not remain the law of the land. Today is a reminder of the importance of passing the #NOBANAct to put this hateful policy in the dustbin of history once and for all.
Do not tell me that a Green New Deal is “radical.” What’s radical is doing nothing to stop climate change while the Arctic is on fire. https://t.co/VWpJWqWTu2
I know these times are dark, but I firmly believe that our best days still lie ahead. If we come together as one America, there's nothing that we can't accomplish.
The DACA decision is so huge for so many people.
It's also not isolated as a win for immigrants' rights. Just over the past 9 days:
—Voters ousted a sheriff who cooperated with ICE in GA.
—Virginia's 2nd biggest county ended its contract with ICE.
Years of activism blossoming.
Two numbers that stand out here:
-64% of Black men say they've been unfairly stopped by police because of race
-69% of Americans have had conversations on race with friends/family in last month

President Trump's threat to use active-duty troops against largely peaceful protesters has rattled the military world, from its top leaders to its youngest veterans https://t.co/4UaNBJgPxZ
A national poll suggests a major shift in the country's view of the protests begun in 2016 by Colin Kaepernick, who may be getting a glimmer of revived interest from the NFL https://t.co/9JawPBnYww
Nothing about the fights we're facing will be easy. Racism has been a fixture in our society for hundreds of years.
But I’m ready to get to work on day one. We can’t accept anything less from an American president.
America was founded on the promise of equality, liberty, and justice for all. We’ve never fully lived up to that promise — and we can’t rest until we finally do.
Because of Donald Trump's negligence and incompetence:
- More than 110,000 people have died
- We have nearly 2 million cases of COVID-19
- Over 20 million Americans are out of work
And yet he’s patting himself on the back. Unbelievable.
Trump and too many Republicans and Democrats in Congress want to approve a defense budget increasing military spending to $740 billion a year. Wrong! We should cut military spending and invest in jobs, education, housing and health care. I will introduce legislation to do that.
“Defund” means that Black & Brown communities are asking for the same budget priorities that White communities have already created for themselves: schooling > police, etc.
People asked in other ways, but were always told “No, how do you pay for it?”
So they found the line item.
