One of the most infuriating aspects of the Rhodesian story is that events proven them entirely right, but their Western enemies never admitted it

The West claimed they were “racist” and mass democracy would work anywhere, and then used that as a reason to back the communist rebels who were known mainly for targeting women in children in awful terror attacks

Eventually the combined might of the world wore down Rhodesia’s 250,000 whites, and after 15 years they gave in to mass democracy

Exactly as they predicted, the tyrannical demagogue Robert Mugabe was elected and spent the next three and a half decades destroying every single positive vestige of what the Rhodesians had spent a century building

So now the former breadbasket of Africa is repeatedly wracked by famine and ruled by a military clique instead of a modern, Western government that rules well

The Rhodesians were 100% right, and the world destroyed them anyway

My Ukrainian friends who fled Ukraine before the war don't have one good word to say about the Ukrainian government - they have completely abolished their consular services and they can't renew their passports remotely (note that the Russians didn't do this to their citizens either).

They are doing everything they can to arrange residency in as many Latin American countries as possible so that when their passports are expired, they are not deported back to Ukraine as illegal immigrants.

Today, one showed me more videos of Ukrainian police catching young guys on the street.

They bring them to a particular room and give them a choice - pay 3000-5000 USD to let them go. Or they force them to sign a contract and send them to the front (see video https://t.co/vJpEPOGZ77 where they force them to do it).

If you want a pass beyond the border of Ukraine, the price is 15000-20000 USD.

Similarly, if you work for the Ukrainian police, they are 90% likely not to allow you to go to war - you have some cover. They only send police officers there who are problematic.

So heavy corruption:

If you have money, you don't go fight in Ukraine.
If you have even more money, you can leave Ukraine without problems.
