@valueterminal Having spent the past 7+ years in PE, I‘d partially disagree. Most to all of them will get the job done, ultimately, but execution matters (you further have to consider opportunity cost on your end).
@bodegacapital Former job in PE, Word 150-300 pages. I like Word as it forces you to lay out your thesis, risks and merits in full sentences. However, our memos were clearly too long and the IC members were not reading them thoroughly imo (understandably…).
@fed_speak Philips 499P9H - got that around the time when Covid lockdown hit and prefer it a lot over my office setup (two screens). The only downside is screen sharing in a collaboration software that doesn‘t support „window“ sharing.
@braveben Headcount is a matter of definition… simply outsourcing your „investment professionals“ to Bain (and paying massive $$$ for their services) isn‘t necessarily that impressive.
@SagaPartners How to spot a bad CEO? Find the one who’s checking the stock price hourly on an ordinary day. Players in sports as well as employees focus on delivering the best performance. My former CEO used to say to fund managers/analysts “you guys figure out the P, I focus on the E”.
@just_whatever Find another version of the video without banners and focus on the convulsions of his left hand. Holding these papers makes it less obvious, but cannot hide it.
@2ChaseGreatness I prefer to always look at both, although I agree with your take. LTM is fact based whereas NTM relies on forecasts. Especially in smaller, high growth businesses &/or new markets these might be off. Look at NTM but do not forget LTM on a relative basis (growth, margins, etc.).
