Finally, what can we all do going forward to make sure that the dream of accessible XR technologies lives on?
This will likely be the last public event that XR Access hosts for the foreseeable future, so we hope to see you there.
We wanted to give the members of our community one last chance to join us and speak about what this organization has meant to you.
-What have you learned at our events?
-Who did you meet that has become important to you?
-How did it feel to know that there are others that care?
Our Planting Disabled Futures seminar with Drs. Petra Kuppers and Laura Murphy of @UMich is tomorrow at 9am PT/12pm ET!
They'll describe this multi-modal #VR experience developed to share energy, liveliness, ongoingness, crip joy and experiences of pain.

Hard news today all: After six impactful years, XR Access is entering hibernation at the end of the year. Due to shifts in the XR funding landscape and changes in the research environment, we're pausing active programming, including the XR Access Symposium, beginning in 2026.
This doesn't erase what we've built together. All of our resources—research publications, accessibility guidelines, toolkits, past symposium content, and more—will remain online and available on our Resources page, GitHub, and YouTube.
Beyond Sight: Navigating the World Through Sound and Innovation starts in just over 20 minutes! Come learn how Discover Live has made virtual tours accessible to the BLV community, and their vision for using #XR and #AI to transform location storytelling.

Our team is non-stop on the quest to improve XR interactions and input. Now we present HandOver, a transition technique aimed to:
1) improve precision and aweness of far reach interaction in XR. (As we know hand ray can often become a pain: hard to select, hard to manipulate).
Our monthly XR Access Round Table is happening at 1pm PT/4pm ET today. Join us to talk about the latest XR accessibility news and share your research and apps!
