#Boulder: addressing the climate crisis requires a fresh look at how #housing and #transportation are linked. One solution is using the homes we have more efficiently - and making them more affordable too!

"Climate change is not the Great Equalizer. It is the Great Multiplier." Just as we've seen with Covid, systemic racism ensures that the climate crisis will affect some communities much more than others. System change is a requirement for fighting climate change. #ClimateJustice
"urge leaders to prioritize human health over car-based convenience and pursue opportunities to maintain this better air quality beyond the current crisis"! #actnow
One thing I didn’t get a chance to say:
There is no silver lining for the planet with coronavirus *because humans are part of the planet.*
Earth Day is not about protecting some vague “earth” concept. It’s about protecting our habitat.
Species don’t exist without habitats.
Global pandemic should not be the cost of clean air. As the world attempts to return to normal over the next year, how do we keep some changes? #systemchangenotclimatechange
Opening rooms in the city means less sprawl into surrounding communities & green spaces. It also means we can better house our workforce and lower the # of SOVs that typically drive into Boulder every day. One change of many needed to drastically reduce consumption #SystemChange
Every time I meet with lawmakers & tell them that we need rapid action on #climatechange, they tell me “change that fast just isn’t possible.” But the #COVID19 world response has proven that rapid change and disruption of business as usual IS possible!

Great question--all of our events at the Boulder Public Library have been cancelled. Discussions will be had regarding virtual sessions in the near future as we do our part to limit the spread of COVID-19. Be well, rebels.✊
Our world is upside-down. Join us on April 15 to rebel in the streets. End fossil fuel subsidies.
"the world spent $4.7 trillion — or 6.3 percent of global GDP — in 2015 to subsidize fossil fuel use, a figure it estimated rose to $5.2 trillion in 2017"
