Extinction Rebellion Buddhists UK

We are Buddhist activists from different traditions and based in the UK. What unites us is concern for the climate and the Buddhist teachings.

At last years 'The Big One' @TrueTube interviewed @XrBuddhists about eco-anxiety. It examines how Buddhism tackles climate change and what are some of the actions they are taking.

[Extinction Rebellion Lambeth 🐝 @XRLambeth]

Yesterday Lambeth rebels took part in a meditation at Barclays in Streatham as part of a UK-wide action.

@Barclays invested +$190bn in coal, oil & gas in the last 6yrs.

Great to hear several people saying they're switching bank 💚
Want to do the same? https://t.co/Yf9ixv3yq0

[XR Cambridge @xr_cambridge]

Barclays has provided more than £190bn to the fossil fuel industry in the last 6 years alone. This makes it the largest fossil fuel financier in Europe and 7th globally.

Today, we joined an @XrBuddhists coordinated national meditation action outside Barclays, the Ecocide Bank.

[Extinction Rebellion Lambeth 🐝 @XRLambeth]

On Friday join our local BARCLAYS SILENT REBELLION as part of a national @XrBuddhists action

Meet at 2.30pm Streatham Hill Station for a silent walk followed by a sitting meditation outside the bank

NB For those of any faith or none, you don’t have to be a Buddhist to join 💚

[Extinction Rebellion Buddhists UK @XrBuddhists]

Would you like to join us for a refugee-focused action? Meet at St John's Gardens near the Home Office at 1000. More info on our website.
