The Emiratis have not experienced war in living memory.
Under a massive onslaught the country is functional, people are working, shelves are fully stocked, there is no panic and the government have kept pretty much everyone safe.
The government and the Emirati people have done it all with immense grace and a smile. A phenomenal people and country.
Ripple had a lot of opportunities where we could have advocated only for ourselves to the detriment of those who would follow us. We absolutely try as hard as we possibly can not to do that, I don't think we ever have done that, but I also think we would do that if we had to. We are at least a little selfish. But it's totally fair for people who think we have done that or are trying to do that to hold us accountable.
I think we also do have some selfish desire to see competitors succeed. I know that sounds strange, but because it's so early, this makes sense. Today it seems possible but in the early days, the idea that Google could succeed without at least a dozen other internet companies being successful seemed absurd. Competitors build the market, build legitimacy, and make the entire space appealing to enterprises and consumers.
Personally, I do think a sub-optimal bill is better than no bill at all. But it also makes sense to fight for the best bill we think we can get.
There’s a small group of “influencers” trying to attack Xaman & @WietseWind + team because they have a small fee of 0.09 XRP on swaps.
Xaman, by far, is the fastest updating wallet. They implement amendments and fixes that other wallets, like Joey Wallet (the one these people are pushing) don’t even have still.
Xaman team is active in the XRPL community and Dev. They provide the best experience, feature rich wallet and do it with a great attitude and optimism.
The current forced narrative that Xaman is doing something wrong stems from these other people wanting to get fees on their low effort software before XRP amendments make it possible to be used by banks and institutions.
Xaman/Xumm and team have been nothing but awesome to work with and they have kept everyone safe, with no hacks or exploits to date.
Keep it up @WietseWind, we are with you!
I absolutely loved the moment on Spaces when @bgarlinghouse answered the question, “Brad, can you flip the switch?”
His response really stuck with me.
He basically said that if there was one single big switch to flip, he’d flip it immediately. But the reality is > it isn’t one switch. It’s hundreds of different switches, all being turned on and off over time.
That answer made me stop and think.
Because when you zoom out and look at what Ripple has actually been doing over the last decade - and especially over the last year > you start to realize just how many switches have already been activated.
Think about it.
Every acquisition.
Every partnership.
Every legal battle fought and progressed through.
Every conversation with institutions.
Every strategic move with governments, regulators, and global finance.
Every hire, every marketing push, every expansion into new markets.
They’re all switches.
Then you look at the technical side > XRPL amendments going live, infrastructure improving, liquidity growing, ecosystem projects expanding, new use cases coming online. More switches.
And when you visualize it, it’s almost like watching the old financial system slowly powering down while an entirely new system powers up in the background > one switch at a time.
People want a single moment where someone hits a button and everything changes overnight. But real transformation doesn’t happen like that. It happens quietly. Gradually. Layer by layer. Switch by switch.
And eventually, there comes a point where enough switches have been activated that the whole machine starts moving at once.
That’s the moment everyone is waiting for.
The moment where all the preparation, all the groundwork, and all the years of building converge into one major shift.
And when that happens > the direction is only ever north for XRP. Up and to the right.
XRP is the "North Star" for Ripple ✨
@BradGarlinghouse highlights how Ripple Payments, Ripple Prime, & Ripple Treasury all drive utility & liquidity around $XRP.

The last couple of weeks have been an absolute firestorm of action to get the Market Structure bill passed. While @BankingGOP clears its logjam (thank you @SenatorTimScott!), congrats are in order to @SenateAgGOP and Chairman @JohnBoozman for advancing the Senate Agriculture Committee’s market structure bill out of committee today.
As I’ve said before, clarity is better than chaos. The legislative process can be messy and complex, but it is 100% necessary to have clarity for this and future generations of crypto entrepreneurs, builders, and users as this technology becomes increasingly ingrained into our global financial infrastructure.
“Let’s not let perfect be the enemy of good” – this right here is the key. No piece of legislation has ever been perfect by everyone’s standards. What we need is a clear framework, allowing innovation to flourish -- exactly what Market Structure will deliver.
I’ll keep saying it (even if others disagree) – clarity over chaos.
