Probably one of the best turn-based tactical games bundle to get right now on Steam. If you don't own these two games yet, you can get it with your eyes closed. Absolut gems to me and both are fully playable on Steam Deck which is THE perfect way to enjoy them IMHO.

Wrapped up Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden! 🎉

After nearly 70 hours, I've completed all the haunting cases and explored a large majority of the map + side activities. I had a great time overall.

The game is clearly inspired by God of War (2018), with a 'wide linear' world design structure. I really enjoyed exploring the different environments. Unlocking new abilities and coming back to open up new areas was cool. Combat is pretty straightforward and can get a little...rote after a while, but it's serviceable.

But my main gripes are probably things like repetitive enemy design, which become a little old after a while outside of the bosses. Definitely needs some technical improvements too as frame dips were very frequent, at least on PS5 in performance mode.

The game's AA budget is apparent, but I do have to give DontNod props, they really punched above their weight where they could, especially in character performances and writing. A lot of the cases were pretty tough with morally gray choices. They made me actually care for Red and Antea and a lot of the side NPCs, and they did an awesome job with world building and making me feel like I'm running around 1695 America. Soundtrack is fantastic too!

While it's not perfect, it's a good action adventure that's worth playing. I'm glad studios like DontNod are out there still making games like this! Hope they make another one.
