I get absolutely no value from this social media platform anymore. It is simply a circular argument of "my point is more valuable than yours - concede," but usually with name-calling.
I've witnessed some of the worst of society here. And for what? What has been accomplished?
My daughter: Dad. Did you know that there were people a long time ago that threw parties because they thought the world was ending?
Me: When was this?
Her: Like 1990 something.
Me: 1999?
Her: Yeah! Crazy! Right?
Me: I was there. I was the party. ๐ฅบ
@SapperNacho For what it's worth.
On Camp Howze in South Korea, Charlie Rock was located all by itself on the backside of the camp. It was uphill (both ways ๐ด), and affectionately referred to as "the Rock."
@Destinysraven I think if people actually read it There would be a better understanding of options to go away from the manual. But then again people didnโt know like for PRT before the ACFTโฆ.
@EODHappyCaptain I've never closed my door since I've been in a command position. I took the open-door policy very literally. I only close it when someone comes in to use it. If my door is open and I'm in my office - I'm available.
@SapperNacho I'm consistently filling my BLC classes at 70-80% I'm begging to get more people sent to me that I know are eligible. If you send them- I will train them. There are so many SPC non-promotables that WANT to come. It's the most asked question I get as a Commandant.
In 1971, engineers from the Soviet Union ignited a fire in a gas-filled hole in the Turkmenistan desert.
Anticipating that the flames would extinguish within days, they were surprised when the fire continued to burn.
Now, 52 years later, this site, known as โThe Door to Hell,โ is still ablaze.
Children are brutally honest. I told my daughter I got a 550 out of 600 on my ACFT this morning. She simply replied, "Why did you lose 50?"
She's right. I don't have a good excuse. I appreciate her words of wisdom.
