I have already lost my job.

I have already lost my income.

I have already lost my benefits.

Why?

Because I said I stood with Israel and it sent Muslim faculty, administration and the Muslim Students Association into a frothing rage.

All at a public Canadian university.

My university invented defamation to destroy my reputation and let it run for two years and then admitted quietly it was false.

But nobody cares about retractions - they care about the juicy gossip. Lies do not have a reverse gear.

I have already spent two and a half years fighting alone because the union Opseu 562 - I paid roughly $15,000 in dues to - refused to represent me.

Opseu hates Israel. Their president is a radical BDS supporter.

Now my dues pay for their lawyers to harass and insult me at the Ontario Labour Board.

So here is the question.

Why are Humber College, the University of Guelph-Humber, OPSEU, and their lawyers still fighting to make sure that I am denied severance?

Why spend millions to avoid paying out a fraction of that?

Because OPSEU and Humber College’s hatred of Israel is that extreme.

Their faculty publically calls Jews subhuman, devil worshippers and advocates for the destruction of Israel and the murder of nine million Israelis.

It is a tax payer funded ideological crusade against one man.

I added it up. They have 11 people fighting me. It’s a hell of an email queue.

Most are paid about $800 an hour. On the taxpayer dime.

The individuals whose actions are at the center of this controversy do not have to personally defend their decisions. They don’t have to even attend.

The institutions do it for them. They send tax payer funded pit bull lawyers to fight one person.

I have no lawyer.

But Opseu and the U of Guelph and Humber are terrified.

Because if one ordinary unremarkable person can successfully challenge powerful institutions, those institutions become accountable.

The U of Guelph Humber has seen a 25% enrolment decline, they have amongst the lowest entry requirements in Ontario, they are now one of the worst universities in Ontario.

The university needs to save money for their ideological crusades.

Perhaps they need more money for Palestinian flags on stage at graduation.

It’s extraordinary - a university that doesn’t focus on learning but on radicalism.

If you hate Israel and want an easy degree go there.

But this case is no longer about one professor.

It is about establishing what views are acceptable and unacceptable within Ontario academia and organized labour.

The institutions involved have spent years fighting to ensure they never have to admit wrongdoing, never have to compensate the person they targeted, and never have to acknowledge that what happened to a pro-Israel voice might have been wrong.

That is why the fight continues.

Not because I have power.

Not because I have resources.

Not because I have lawyers.

But because if one ordinary person can successfully challenge powerful institutions, those institutions become accountable.

Eleven people against one.

Please don’t say it’s not my problem and let it go.

Speaking as someone inside Iran who stayed connected through Starlink during the total internet blackout, I want to say this loud and clear:

President Trump’s recent video on Truth Social — showing Iranian protesters writing “President Trump please help” on walls, waving Lion and Sun flags alongside American flags, replaying raw footage of the revolution and saying “I’m with you, I will fight for you and I will win for you” — is music to our ears.

The flames of the Lion and Sun uprising have not died down. They are simply waiting for the right moment to roar again.

It was @realDonaldTrump, alongside @netanyahu and @PahlaviReza who told us to stay in our homes, stay safe, and wait until help arrives and Operation Epic Fury is complete. That’s exactly what millions of us have been doing.

There is enormous pent-up anger, grief, and anxiety inside Iran right now — but also real hope. All of it is ready to be unleashed the moment the opportunity comes.

The Iranian people are deeply pro-America. We need America’s support to finally envision a free Iran — a nation where values very similar to American ones can flourish once more, just as they did before 1979 and the arrival of this cursed, evil regime.

Make no mistake: this is not a regime that will fade away or soften its terror on its own. Trust me when I say we have tried every possible path short of war. We exhausted every peaceful option — massive street protests, open resistance, attempts at gradual reform, dialogue, you name it. None of it worked. The regime’s only consistent answer has been bullets, executions, and fresh waves of fear.

Right now there is deep internal fighting among regime figures. Mullahs and the IRGC are turning on each other, while the so-called “reformist” faction is nothing but the same old Islamic Republic in nicer clothes and smoother language. Do not be fooled by them. The only reason they are clashing is because their money flow has been disrupted, so they blame one another and scramble for more power.

We tried to bring this regime down before, but we were mostly unarmed while they were armed to the teeth. Over 40,000 were slaughtered in cold blood, with many more executed, tortured, or thrown in prison. We need help to level the playing field. Then we will rise again—and this time, we will succeed. When we do, we will never forget who stood with us; our debt will be paid in full and more.

Iranians are more pro-America than many Americans on X, because we have seen American values and said: “Yes, that is what we want too.” That includes the First Amendment — which needs no explanation — and the Second Amendment, which hits especially close to home. An armed Iranian people could never have been oppressed like this for so long. No one should ever have to surrender their guns, and no one should have to hide like a criminal just for having free internet. I should not be forced to run and conceal myself for simply owning @Starlink.

The Iranian diaspora has been our voice when we had no internet. They have accurately represented us during these protests while the talks were happening, making it clear we reject any negotiation with this regime and want Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi to represent the Iranian people — because no one inside this regime ever can.

We are anxiously waiting for the opportunity. Let’s see if it comes. But make no mistake: the majority of Iranians feel exactly as I do. Make Iran Great Again.

Der Gestapo-Offizier beugte sich nach vorne und machte ein scheinbar großzügiges Angebot.

„Ich möchte Sie nach Hause schicken, alter Freund.“

Casper ten Boom war vierundachtzig Jahre alt – ein gebrechlicher niederländischer Uhrmacher, der gerade verhaftet worden war, weil er jüdische Familien in einem geheimen Raum in seinem Haus versteckt hatte. Seine beiden Töchter befanden sich bereits in nahegelegenen Zellen. Alles, was er tun musste, war zu versprechen, damit aufzuhören.

Er dachte einen Moment nach. Dann sprach er:

„Wenn ich heute nach Hause gehe, werde ich morgen meine Tür wieder jedem Menschen öffnen, der in Not ist und anklopft.“

Zehn Tage später war er tot.

Die Familie ten Boom betrieb ein kleines Uhrengeschäft in Haarlem in den Niederlanden. Über dem Laden befand sich ein schmales, schiefes Haus, das sie „Beje“ nannten – ein Zuhause voller Pflegekinder, hilfsbedürftiger Nachbarn und Sonntagsschul-Treffen. Sie waren gewöhnliche Menschen, die ein ruhiges Leben führten.

Dann kamen die Nazis.

Als Deutschland 1940 die Niederlande besetzte, verschwanden jüdische Nachbarn einer nach dem anderen. Eines Tages im Jahr 1942 erschien eine jüdische Frau mit einem Koffer vor der Tür der Familie ten Boom – ohne einen Ort, an den sie gehen konnte.

Casper zögerte nicht: „In diesem Haus sind Gottes Menschen immer willkommen.“

Was folgte, war außergewöhnlich. Die Familie verwandelte ihr Zuhause still und heimlich in das Zentrum eines niederländischen Widerstandsnetzwerks. Hinter einer falschen Wand im Schlafzimmer der Tochter Corrie bauten sie ein Versteck – nur etwa 75 Zentimeter tief, kaum breit genug für sechs Menschen, um regungslos zu stehen. Ein Summersystem warnte vor Razzien. Lebensmittelkarten wurden gefälscht. Flüchtlinge wurden nachts in Sicherheit gebracht.
Sie wussten, dass die Strafe für das Verstecken von Juden der Tod war. Trotzdem taten sie es.

Am 28. Februar 1944 verriet ein niederländischer Informant sie. Die Gestapo durchsuchte stundenlang das Haus – fand jedoch nie die sechs Menschen, die hinter der falschen Wand den Atem anhielten. Siebenundvierzig Stunden später wurden diese sechs in Sicherheit gebracht.

Die Familie ten Boom hatte weniger Glück. Casper starb im Gefängnis. Corrie und ihre Schwester Betsie wurden nach Ravensbrück gebracht – eines der brutalsten Konzentrationslager für Frauen im nationalsozialistischen Deutschland. Sie erlitten Hunger, Zwangsarbeit und sahen Mitgefangene sterben. Doch jede Nacht hielten sie im Schein einer hineingeschmuggelten Bibel leise Gottesdienste in ihrer Baracke ab.

Als Betsie im Dezember 1944 im Sterben lag, flüsterte sie Corrie zu:

„Es gibt keine Grube so tief, dass Er nicht noch tiefer ist. Sie werden uns zuhören, Corrie, weil wir hier gewesen sind.“

Zwölf Tage nach Betsies Tod wurde Corrie freigelassen – aufgrund eines Verwaltungsfehlers. Eine Woche später wurden alle Frauen ihres Alters, die noch im Lager waren, in die Gaskammern geschickt.

Corrie ten Boom verbrachte die nächsten dreißig Jahre damit, um die Welt zu reisen und ihre Geschichte zu erzählen. 1947 stand sie einem ehemaligen Wachmann aus Ravensbrück gegenüber, der sie um Vergebung bat. Später schrieb sie:

„Vergebung ist kein Gefühl. Vergebung ist eine Entscheidung des Willens.“

Sie nahm seine Hand.

Bis zu dem Zeitpunkt ihres Verrats hatte das Netzwerk der ten Booms schätzungsweise 800 Menschen geholfen, zu überleben. Sie taten es nicht aus Ruhm oder um Geschichte zu schreiben. Sie taten es, weil jemand an ihre Tür klopfte – und sie glaubten, dass jeder Mensch, der anklopft, eine offene Tür verdient.

Corrie starb am 15. April 1983 – an ihrem 91. Geburtstag. Das Versteck in Haarlem steht noch heute. Besucher aus aller Welt kommen, um einen Raum von nur 75 Zentimetern Tiefe zu sehen, in dem eine gewöhnliche Familie die wohl außergewöhnlichste Entscheidung traf, die man sich vorstellen kann.
