Perplexed & Saddened by how comfortable we are with living side by side with #INJUSTICE & our collective actions which say Viva Poverty! #UBI supporter.
@AliFortescue you brought your best game tonight. Delightful to watch. 🫡
My comment to Tim M from my couch was: Not the first time the tall trees are complaining about the wind. He will argue Reform is not tall but the €5m is surely taller than most.
🚨BREAKING | Zack Polanski says Greens will NOT work with Labour if Burnham continues to support Israel
Polanski said the genocide in Gaza is a "red line", and that any co-operation with Burnham would be impossible unless he admits Israel is committing genocide

A few days ago, I tweeted that I think the DA will lose its majority in the City of Cape Town. That opinion has resulted in me receiving thousands of DMs containing rape and death threats from DA members/supporters.
You are welcome to disagree with my opinion. If I am wrong, I am wrong. But threatening me with sexual violence because you disagree with my view is disgusting.
In addition, I have been threatened with having my job as a journalist made “difficult”. I have been told I will not be given comment when I ask for it and that my editors will be contacted and pressured to remove me from stories.
This is a tactic many of my colleagues warned me about. I have told me to avoid talking about the DA altogether because of threats like these.
Twitter is not journalism. My journalistic integrity is measured by the articles I write, not by the opinions I share on social media. A tweet is not a news article. I did not publish a piece of reporting; I expressed an opinion.
In a country where GBV claims the lives of hundreds of women yearly and has been declared a national crisis, it is completely unacceptable that I am receiving rape threats for expressing a political opinion. This is not simply another aspect of my job. While threats and attacks against journalists are sadly common, nobody would be threatening me with rape if I were a man.
I will not be silenced because I expressed a view.
In 2023, I publicly stated that I believed the ANC would lose its majority in 2024. Many people disagreed with me, but I did not receive a single rape threat from ANC members or supporters.
I do not speak about the DA more than any other political party. Analysing political parties is literally my job as a political analyst. What disgusts me is that in a country with constitutional protections for freedom of expression, a young woman can be threatened with rape and violence simply for making a political prediction.
Disagree with me if you want. Argue with me. Tell me I am wrong. But do not threaten my safety because you dislike my opinion.
Emily Thornberry has today said the government has let down the Palestinian people, and allowed Israel to act with impunity.
The audacity.
Here she is in October 2023 refusing to condemn Israel cutting off power and supplies to Gaza.
Don’t let these people rewrite history.
Xenophobic marchers stirring hatred of foreigners are messengers of the new apartheid. They flout the teachings of all major religions in South Africa. They already have the blood of 5 persons from Mozambique and a young South African lad mistaken for one, on their hands.
Sadly, most of the Tech-bro's of Silicone Valley hold similar views. They see empathy as obstructive to a future run by their robotic minions. The fact that there can be no following of the great religions without empathy doesn't escape them. That's the plan.
I got a call from my daughter’s high school principal today. He said she’d been caught operating an “unauthorized commercial enterprise” out of the girls’ locker room. My stomach DROPPED. I left work immediately, already imagining the worst: Drugs. Vapes. Stolen stuff. Some TikTok side hustle gone wrong. By the time I got to the school, I was preparing myself for lawyers, suspension, maybe even police involvement. I walk into the principal’s office….…and my daughter is sitting there quietly with a spiral notebook full of spreadsheets. Not cash. Not customer lists. Spreadsheets. Turns out, she’d noticed some girls at school were quietly struggling: • no money for feminine hygiene products • no winter jackets • wearing the same clothes every week after budget cuts hit families hard So she started her own underground support network. She collected donated jackets, hygiene products, gloves, and clothes from wealthier neighborhoods.
Then she cataloged everything by size and need in her notebook like a tiny operations manager. And from her gym locker, she distributed items discreetly to students who needed them — no embarrassment, no announcements, no attention. The principal wasn’t calling because she was in trouble. He called because the school found out… and wanted my permission to turn her “illegal locker room business” into an official school charity program.
I thought I was driving to the biggest parenting nightmare of my life. Instead, I walked into one of the proudest moments I’ve ever had as a parent.
HOW did Blair get so rich?
HOW did Blair get so rich?
HOW did Blair get so rich?
Any actual journalists out there who can inform us as to HOW did Blair get so rich?
It matters. It tells us about his values and his obligations and his aims
Blair, who Thatcher described as her greatest achievement because he turned Labour into a corrupt, warmongering, neoliberal party just like the Tories, is a war profiteer & at best a sociopath at worst a psychopath who feels nothing for the slaughter & immiseration he has caused, which has made him extremely wealthy
Tony Blair thinks the answer to this country’s problems is AI, welfare cuts and endless spending on war.
Who benefits? Arms companies and tech billionaires.
Once again, Blair is wrong. The answer is a redistribution of wealth and power and the relentless search for peace.
Tony Blair is the living embodiment of what happens when political office becomes a down payment on future plunder. Ejected in 2007 by his own MPs as a massive liability, he bequeathed Britain a wild casino economy primed for the 2008 crash. And when the British economy crashed and burned, Mr Blair kept quiet while honing his skills at securing power by other means.
His first job, after his ejection from 10 Downing Street, was as the West’s Middle East envoy, with a supposed emphasis on Gaza. It took six painful years for Mr Blair’s tenure to prove a failure so profound it amounted to active complicity in Israel’s ethnic cleansing, in Palestinian erasure, and in paving the ground for the ongoing genocide.
Soon after, the Chilcot Inquiry demolished Blair’s Iraq lies, exposing him as a liar, a chancer and a war criminal responsible for countless corpses of Iraqis, but also of British soldiers.
Then came Blair’s real innovation: the financialisation of the ex-premiership itself. The Tony Blair Institute, fuelled by £130 million from Oracle's Larry Ellison—coincidentally, the largest individual donor to the Friends of the IDF—became a shadow state, brokering governance contracts for autocrats and companies like Palantir that weaponise AI to produce mega-death abroad and full-on surveillance of Western populations.
Now, in May 2026, this corporate fixer issues a 5700 word tantrum demanding that Labour embrace Trump even more than Starmer already has, denounce what is left of Labour’s betrayed Green New Deal, and trash the remnants of workers' rights. This is not the wisdom of an aging statesman. It is the frantic squirming of a man fearing his grip on oligarchic power might soon wane and whose entire post-10 Downing Street existence depends on preventing the many from ever reclaiming what the few have plundered.
