The situation in Bangladesh and parts of India is still catastrophic. If you have the possibility, please consider donating to the flood relief. Even the smallest amount makes a difference.

We emailed @washingtonpost asking the paper to improve its climate crisis coverage. They offered to review our guidelines. We requested a July 24 update but heard no response. This week we launch our campaign to demand that WaPo #TellTheTruth about the emergency.
People with power, influence, resources knew in 1982 how the effects of fossil fuels and capitalism would wreck the planet and lives.
They decided to plow full steam ahead into a collective nightmare for profit.
The same politicians that allowed this are still in power.
This century, billions of people could be displaced due to global warming.
Surprised?

Poor & low-income eligible voters are about 22% less likely to vote than those w/ higher incomes b/c many poor people rarely hear the issues & solutions to systemic injustice they face raised in elections & policy debates. #PoorPeoplesCampaign
The world's three top stories right now:
1. Hundreds of millions or billions of people will soon be displaced due to climate breakdown
2. Biodiversity loss, a.k.a global dying, a.k.a mass extinction
3. Irreversibility of human-caused planetary changes driving 1 and 2
Outraged by the feds at #PortlandProtest? This is not new for DHS, they've been using brutality for years at the border.
Where did they learn to abduct ppl? Where did they learn to destroy humanitarian supplies? Anapra, El Paso, the desert. #AbolishICE#AbolishDHS#FreeThemAll
It is true that the earlier protest, by The Black Revolutionists, was peaceful. It is also true that this evenings protest, by Roxboro residents and people invited by residents to show support, was peaceful until attacked by the police.
Historic flooding is underway right now in Bangladesh, Nepal, India, and China with tens of millions of people affected in a burgeoning humanitarian crisis and it's barely international news.
We are in a climate emergency.
