"Sex workers are already criminalised and stigmatized, facing significant barriers to accessing health services. Because of their already marginalized status, many are forced into unsafe #abortion practices." @awacuganda

#Consent is key in every step of intimacy! Silence or lack of a 'no' doesn’t mean yes. The only way to be sure? Your partner clearly and enthusiastically says or shows they’re ready.
Self-stigma kills.
It's shortsighted to hope & limits living.
#HIV diagnosis can be daunting, no doubt, but self-stigma is weighty.
There's #ARV & it works to improve health, elongate life & achieve #UequalsU.
Self-acceptance is to prove HIV & myth wrong & live well beyond it.
Hey everyone,
My name is Peace, and I’m 23 years old. I’ve been in a wonderful relationship for 2 years. Recently, I found out that my boyfriend was born with HIV. I still love, but I’m concerned about how this might affect our relationship.
What should I do?

We successfully concluded refresher trainings in Nakapiripirit, Kaabong, Moroto, Napak, Kotido, Amudat and Abim Districts, which aimed at sustaining and strengthening the capacities of community paralegals from Karamoja Region, focusing on legal frameworks, safety and human rights literacy.
Aligned with Global Fund's mission to combat AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria, these sessions equipped paralegals with essential tools to advocate for the legal and human rights of vulnerable populations.
The training enhanced paralegals' ability to operate effectively in challenging environments, thereby contributing to reducing stigma and discrimination, and promoting equitable access to health services.
This initiative reinforces @TASOUganda’s commitment to empowering communities through legal education and advocacy, ultimately supporting the broader goal of creating a supportive environment for people living with HIV/AIDS and other vulnerable groups in Uganda.

"A child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth." This African proverb reminds us of the importance of collectiveness, which speaks to the theme of the #2024APNAssembly: "Collective Freedom from Collective Struggle."
