From 1st September 2026, NCK is stopping new admissions into KRCHN, KRN and KRNM.

All those separate diploma programmes are being merged into one: Diploma in Community Health Nursing (DCHN).

Graduates will be called RCHN.

This DCHN is really about to kill the international side of nursing practice 😭 Why not just eliminate the “Community” part and call it a Diploma in Nursing at this point?

Geriatric Nursing becomes a full standalone unit and students will be assessed in Psychiatric Units.

But honestly, why keep “Community Health” in the title?
Just call it Diploma in Nursing.
The “community” bit makes it feel narrower and somehow lesser. Many of us are not happy with that.

If you’re already enrolled in KRCHN or any of the old diplomas, you continue and finish as normal.

The cutoff is only for new intakes starting September.

They’re combining general nursing, midwifery, mental health and community health into this single DCHN curriculum.
