NEW FEATURE 🎬🧡
New in Hellyeah: video ad support for Performance Max campaigns.
We’re expanding the creative formats you can work with in PMax—and this release brings video into the mix.
Also shipped: a little polish where your team leaves feedback. Author comments now have improved Markdown styling, making formatted notes easier to scan and follow.

Most engineering interviews are already obsolete.
And most hiring managers are measuring the wrong thing: résumé prestige, LeetCode speed, and the ability to sound impressive for 60 minutes.
For AI-native teams, the bottleneck is no longer typing. It is judgment.
Can you choose the right problem? Give an agent the right context? Catch a plausible wrong answer? Recover when the data, evaluator, or dependency changes?
My hiring philosophy is simple: start with the 90-day outcome, look for evidence of exceptional ability, let candidates use AI openly, and test whether they can verify and own the result under changing constraints.
Introducing hellyeah/assessment: an AI-open engineering assessment where candidates can use Claude Code, Codex, and their own tools. The proposed workflow gives them four hours to work on a real problem.
We are not trying to detect AI use. We are trying to see what happens around the code: what they delegate, verify, keep human, and stop doing.
Built with @Bharath_uwu, @WilsonTseng8, and @joshualocke100.
The controversial view: the best AI-era engineer may be the person who knows which code should never be written.
What part of the traditional engineering interview would you delete first?

I grew up in china and am now building companies in the US.
The environment for entrepreneurship in each nation is radically different.
I find the US has a very high tolerance for founder failure.
In the Bay, people don't care if you've failed multiple startups. If anything, it's like a badge of honor.
I angel in a lot of YC companies, and many of them will fail. When that happens in the US, the founder shuts it down, starts a new entity, and raises from a new group of investors. Investors buy this narrative of "I tried, it didn't work, let's move on."
Chinese culture doesn't tolerate this kind of failure.
In China, the mindset is closer to "I have to succeed."
Founders keep a struggling startup alive far longer than a US founder would. And if they do start a new entity, the previous investors usually get taken care of with equity in the new company, so it's never really a clean restart.
As someone who has seen both sides, I believe the Chinese approach drives a lot more competition and creates a culture of extreme persistence. It means your team doesn't even consider "quitting" as a viable option. They will do whatever it takes.
Today, I'm building Hellyeah AI. We're a US company, and I like building here.
But the team I want to build is the one that doesn't even think of quitting as an option.

Playing host to so many friends felt incredible. It also taught me a few things.
An event has to work for three groups of people:
1️⃣ Your sponsors, most of all. They bet on you before anyone showed up, and they should feel it paid off.
2️⃣ Your team. The night should actually move their work forward @YChahahahaAI@lwqconnie.
3️⃣ Your attendees. They should leave having had a great night.
I'm really happy we hit all three.
We’re hiring like crazy at Hellyeah AI.
Our product helps companies generate millions in revenue with efficient, agent-led paid media campaigns. We're backed by top VCs and growing insanely fast.
Come work with us if you are:
1. A problem-solver who can hack any solution
2. Super curious and always on top of the latest in the GTM space
3. Great at context-switching at scale (ruthless at triaging / prioritization)
4. A great people manager who can apply the same mentality to a fleet of agents
5. Believe that B2B marketing shouldn't be boring
A few roles we're actively looking to fill right now:

My cofounder and I spent 2 years building Final Round AI and scaled it to 8 figures. Then we decided to start all over again.
In 2024 we built an AI powered interview tool to help millions of people land their dream job.
After launch we saw immediate traction. People loved the product.
But 2 years later, we began to see how we could go in a different direction: we could consolidate all our learning from Final Round to empower people with our GTM secret sauce. So we started building Hellyeah AI.
Don’t get me wrong - Final Round had growth momentum people were super jealous about. We got lots of questions about our secrets because we were getting traction so fast.
But even as we were scaling it, we knew in the back of our minds that we had a consumer product with limited upside.
The market for interview prep is smaller than the opportunity to build digital workers, and Michael Guan and I wanted to build a $B+ company.
So we took our technical foundation and learnings - including all the training data we had from humans - and decided to transition to something better. We believe that if you can train agents to pass job interviews and assess human beings at scale, you can train them to clone any human behavior out there.
And which use case does every company on earth need help with?
User acquisition.
Every company needs new leads, and many run paid media campaigns to grow. But they usually work with agencies that cost an arm and a leg, or run campaigns in-house with humans. Very few are leveraging AI in the process.
After months of head down building, we've built a product that companies like Truist, Hyperspell, Fish Audio, WPT Global, Eragon, TIMEDOMAIN , and Marvel Snap are using to drive millions in revenue, at a fraction of the cost.
I'll be sharing more about our work here soon.

we could’ve just said “we run your ads.” instead, we made this.
