I have a new book out today: THE HEAT WILL KILL YOU FIRST. It's about extreme heat and how it impacts every living thing on this planet.
It's not a doomer book. The opposite, in fact. I think of it as a survival guide for life in the 21st century.

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito overturned Roe, then traveled to Rome on the plaintiff's dime.
None of our rights are safe as long as the Supreme Court can be legally bought.
#ExpandTheCourt and impose a mandatory code of ethics.

We have just had a report from our intelligence and the Security Service of 🇺🇦.
Intelligence has received information that Russia is considering a scenario of a terrorist attack on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. A terrorist attack with radiation leakage. They have prepared everything for this.
Unfortunately, I have repeatedly had to remind that radiation has no state borders, and who it will hit is determined only by the wind direction.
We share all available information with our partners – everyone in the world. All the evidence. Europe, America, China, Brazil, India, the Arab world, Africa – all countries, absolutely everyone should know this. International organizations. Everyone.
There should never be any terrorist attacks on nuclear power plants anywhere. This time it should not be like with Kakhovka – the world has been warned, so the world can and must act.
This is both accurate and underappreciated: Trump wasn't charged for improperly taking documents. There wasn't even a slap on the wrist for the docs he took but gave back.
The case is all about the docs he tried to keep — and obstruct the retrieval process of.
A fact I don’t see out there enough…Trump was not charged in regard to any of the 197 documents he returned to the archives. (Also one of the MANY reasons this is different from Biden and Pence….who returned them and no evidence they knowingly took)
A former President is being indicted - for the 2d time - & there's non-stop coverage.
Some good analysis, some not so good.
Many keep bringing up how "those in the military are likely the most upset about Trump absconding with intel secrets."
Yes, but there's more. 1/
Two dozen white supremacists are outside the main Disney World entrance in Orlando right now, marching with signs featuring Gov DeSantis’s face, swastikas, the n-word and homophobic slurs.
This is the 2023 Republican Party.
I mean, there's a tape of Trump saying, "this plan for invading a foreign country is completely secret, I can't declassify it, and here, have a look."
This doesn't seem like one of those close calls.
Who's to blame for this?
Here's a list: Exxon, Shell, BP, Total, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Cenovus, Suncor, TC Energy, Enbridge, Marathon.
Says their names as you huddle indoors. As you cough. As your kids' recess is canceled. As older folks head to hospitals.

@CirclEdgeInc@ESYudkowsky@gmiller@gdb What's the reason that creating multiple gods who oppose each other would go well for you, a non-god stuck in the middle?
Imagine a pharmaceutical company that made a pill meant to cure a deadly disease but actually *deliberately spreads it...
So that more people buy the pills...
So more people die — and on and on.
Now swap out GUNS for pills and you have the gun industry’s actual business model.
No, donald trump’s indictment isn’t an “assault on democracy”.
The coup he plotted was.
It’s not an “attack on our Republic”.
January 6th was.
It’s not “the end of the rule of law”.
It’s the application of it.
And it’s not the “weaponization of government”.
It’s the the antidote to it.
donald trump broke the law.
Either we are a nation of laws or we are not.
And if we are not, then all is lost.
Take a few minutes out of your day today to read MLK's "Mountaintop" speech - the speech he gave the day before his assassination. It gets so much closer to understanding what he stood for - and why he was a threat - than "I have a dream". Short thread: https://t.co/P8ULf66htq
2 died of Ebola: They said Obama should resign.
4 died in Benghazi: They had Hillary testify for 11 hours, held 33 hearings, and launched a 4-year probe.
1,113,307 Covid deaths plus an armed insurrection thanks to Trump’s malevolence: They cheered, and want America to move on.
