EXPORTING A UGANDAN BRAND, NOT JUST COFFEE
For decades, Uganda has proudly exported some of the finest coffee in the world. Today, our coffee is globally recognized for its quality, and Uganda has emerged among Africa's leading coffee exporters, earning over US$2.4 billion annually from coffee exports. Yet one fundamental question remains:
Why do we export coffee, but not globally recognized Ugandan coffee brands?
The shelves of the world are filled with brands that originated from national ambition. Japan exported Toyota. America exported Tesla. Ireland exported Guinness. Italy exported Gucci. These countries understood that the greatest economic value lies not in exporting raw products, but in exporting brands, intellectual property, experiences, and consumer loyalty.
Coffee should not be viewed merely as a cash crop. Coffee is a global beverage industry worth hundreds of billions of dollars, and the largest profits are captured long after the bean leaves the farm.
This is why @AfriCoffeePark's vision goes beyond exporting coffee. Our mission is to build a globally competitive Ugandan brand that represents not only our coffee but the excellence, innovation, and identity of an entire nation.
Branding and marketing have been the missing links in Africa's coffee story.
Imagine a future where Uganda becomes known not only for growing exceptional coffee, but for roasting, branding, and selling some of the world's most respected coffee products.
Imagine Uganda becoming one of the world's premier roasting destinations, where coffee from Brazil, Ethiopia, Colombia, and beyond is brought here for processing and global distribution.
That is how nations move from commodity dependence to economic power. More value addition means more jobs, more investment, higher tax revenues, stronger industries, and ultimately better incomes for farmers.
The challenge before us is bigger than coffee.
Uganda needs more brands capable of competing on the global stage in agriculture, manufacturing, technology, tourism, fashion, and consumer products.
The next chapter of Uganda's economic transformation will not be written by exporting more raw materials.
It will be written by building world-class Ugandan brands.
The debate is simple:
Should Uganda continue exporting commodities, or should we start exporting brands?

The officials also inspected the Busunju–Kiboga–Hoima and Mityana–Mubende road rehabilitation projects 🛣️.
The projects had recently stalled due to limited funding, but works have aggressively resumed after the contractors were paid for completed works.
The Permanent Secretary, Waiswa Bageya, urged the contractors to expedite the works and ensure faster progress on the projects.
