I wrote up a season preview - predicting every 49ers game through the lens of Upton Stout (with recommendations for stout breweries from each opponent's area)
Anthropic’s spat with the DoW back in February was Wemby’s “I’m in his head” moment.
Coming out of that looking like The Good Guys, they applied a jumpers-only mentality to the Mythos roll-out, setting themselves up to their De’Aaron Fox moment aka Fable stealth-nerfing scandal
claude is so much more tweetable than chatgpt
even though i prefer gpt 5.5 to opus 4.8, i almost always tweet ‘claude’ whenever i’m talking about LLMs because it sounds better. it doesn’t reflect my actual usage, which is a shame for openai
You can just do things, like give someone with Correct Opinions a ton of capital so they can 100x their agency and shape reality. I don't think you've missed once with your SF takes, of what it's like to live here as a real person and not a tech twitter caricature, and someone with that depth / nuance to all levels of experiencing a city (young and dumb, successful and less dumb) is rare and can make a massive difference in a city
San Francisco's "cultural dominance" is just AI-posting on the internet, which everyone hates. I say that as a San Franciscan. I wish we exported more of our grass-touching culture but the grass-touchers are too preoccupied to be exporting anything except for IG stories of the sunset
The big story is that New York has diminished in its cultural dominance over America as San Fransisco and Miami are its capitals of the Twenty First Century. I feel Los Angeles has lost a bit of cultural agenda-setting too in the Online Era.
The SF Chronicle ranked Four Kings as the #1 best restaurant in the entire Bay Area, and it’s worthy of the honor.
This fried rabbit had a crunchy fried skin reminiscent of Hook Fish’s fish and chips. The meat was juicy and the sauce was spicy/numbing/tingling. I’ve never had anything like it.
Meanwhile the boring classics like Beef Chow Fun are the best I’ve had
@ArmandDoma totally, his dorkiness fits well with SF nerds / geeks, and he’s been around for a while with a track record of delivering wins for YIMBY.
With strong local ties, that raises the threshold for how charismatic a challenger has to be, still doable but Saikat wasn’t close
@ArmandDoma He also had negative rizz which matters a lot going against a local giant, who’s relatively well-liked by a decent amount of locals. He didn’t have a reviled “incumbent” like Cuomo to run against
