I am incredibly privileged to have this opportunity to share the perspective from #Taiwan. The inclusion of a Taiwan panel at the #RigaStratComDialogue —featuring Taiwanese panelists—is itself a powerful message of strategic communication.
Dr. Ya-chi Chiang, Deputy Representative, Taipei Representative Office in the United Kingdom at the #RigaStratComDialogue: "Talking about freedom, I will quote the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, who stated that values and rights are worth fighting for".

In a more volatile world, #Taiwan's Whole-of-Society Defence Resilience Committee exemplifies scale of ambition the #UK needs in the face of rising #security#threats.
As I said in Parliament’s Joint Committee on the #NationalSecurity Strategy, vital we learn from its successes.
Amb. Yao and Dep. Chiang were delighted to attend @HungDance's performance of Push and Pull at the Coronet Theatre last week. This brilliant piece of Taiwanese creativity received a very warm welcome from its London audience👏
At the UK Parliament, I was pleased to meet with Lord Purvis of Tweed, Leader of the Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords, and James MacCleary MP, the Liberal Democrat defence spokesperson. We discussed Taiwan–UK cooperation, Taiwan–US and UK–US relations, and how partners can work more effectively together on security challenges.
I shared Taiwan’s direct observations of China’s grey-zone pressure and hybrid tactics, including airspace probing, UAV activity, cyber operations, and information pressure. We focused on practical areas to deepen cooperation, especially in defense security, the UAV industry, and countering cyber and hybrid threats. Both agreed that as threats grow more complex, closer coordination and policy sharing are increasingly important.
We also exchanged views on how NATO countries have been handling Russian UAV incursions into their airspace. Similar situations are occurring around Taiwan as well, making these experiences highly relevant as reference cases and important for shaping more standardized response procedures going forward.
In a time of rapid change, cross-party and cross-border dialogue matters more than ever. I look forward to further advancing Taiwan–UK cooperation in security, technology, and resilience.
🇬🇧UK FCDO issues clear concern over China’s military drills around Taiwan and reiterates that peace & stability across the Strait are vital to global prosperity and UK economy.
🇹🇼Taiwan appreciates the UK’s firm stance and will stay resilient to uphold the peace in the region.
We thank our democratic partners who have expressed concern on China's provocative military drills around Taiwan. 🇹🇼Taiwan will continue to defend the peace we all cherish.
China’s drills and live fire around Taiwan raise tensions, threaten peace, and endanger air and maritime safety. Taiwan rejects coercion and intimidation. We thank democratic partners for speaking out and standing with Taiwan to uphold regional peace and a rules based order.
I sat down for a rare interview with Taiwan’s Vice President, @Bikhim.
Must-watch insights from a leader operating at the center of where history is shaped every day.
